This beast sports a twin turbo 522cid big block Chevy that screams out 1250hp on pump gas and a ridiculous 2000hp on race gas! Ever go 0 to 150mph in 5 seconds -- Butch can. Butch and his 3700lb Pontiac cruise the local streets (with parachute, of course) and run the quarter in 7 seconds. How many 70 year old men have the nuts to mash the throttle on 2000hp? Not sure, but Butch sure does. The Pontiac was transformed into this behemoth at Nelson Supercars.

Nice car that looks like it's in fairly original condition with the exception of the floor shifter. Pontiac had an ingenious way to develop a 4 cylinder engine based on the engine in this car..it simply chopped an entire cylinder bank off the engine. This car has the 326 c.i. V8. The transmission was located toward the rear of the car as a way to make the car inherently more balanced.

This is my NON show car. Mostly the way I like it. Almost done. Mostly little stuff that is hard to find for a Tempest. But she sounds great. She doesnt even look like this anymore.

A story in images, funky video and music of the short life of a 1930 Ford hot rod, 1963 389 Pontiac power, backed by M-21. Built with care to resemble a period car as closely as possible. Was provided with Pete & Jake's chassis which of course is not period, but it was terrific to build and a excellent, smooth driver.
