1968 Shelby Cobra GT500KR
November 5, 2011 -- Earl Cornwell Jr., Auctioneer and Owner of Earl's
Auction Company in Indianapolis, Indiana, presides over the sale at auction
of the Hughbanks Estate, Plainfield, IN.
The centerpieces of the sale included a number of antique and collectable
automobiles... including a 'nearly original' 1968 Shelby Cobra with just
over 9,100 actual miles.
Watch as the bidding quickly jumps to over six figures, finally to close at
a World Record Price of $253,000.
In the end, the vehicle is loaded and delivered, with Police escort, to the
new owners location. Let's hope that one day this beauty will be shared for
the enjoyment of all antique auto / muscle car enthusiasts.
1973 Mach 1 Mustang Restoration - improved
A short video journey along the 18 months it took us to restore a bent and
rusting red wreck into a race car for the World's ultimate tarmac rally -
Targa Tasmania. This video is missing a lot, as you can imagine with a
complete restoration, but it does contain footage of the day we bought the
car right up to the recently completed Targa Wrest Point 2010 tarmac rally
- without a crash.
We need to recognise John Biggelaar (near Launceston) our amazing restorer,
and Warren and the boys at Gorringes (in North Hobart), who took on a
monumental mechanical task and succeeded. And of course my wife and kids
who have shown understanding, tolerance and passion.

Original Barn find 1968 GT500 Shelby
This car is completely original down to the tires! This one of a kind find
has never been washed since resurfacing from an undisclosed location in
Georgia. This Shelby is a true barn find and yes, it does start and is
driven on and off it's enclosed trailer to various car shows. The seats
have been changed back to the original ones that came in the car along with
all the SHELBY letters that are missing. The car is a rare automatic.
