1959 C1 Corvette Barn Car Unveiled
More of our story on www.vette59.com!
Katharine and her dad "uncover" their Corvette after 25 years of storage in
the barn. This is the first step in getting the car back on the road. The
'vette was purchased by Barry in 1970 from the original owner, and went
into retirement when kids came along. The two are putting her back in
road-ready condition, no NCRS untouchable flatbed riders here.
1977 Corvette Overall Paint Job Time Lapse
This Corvette was painted with the factory yellow. This was a very long
video, so please excuse the fact that we had to shorten it considerably.
As always, more pictures and information can be found at
59 caddy barn find
sitting since 1972, theres more videos to come on this one, its neat to go
through these old barn finds and see what was intombed in the glove box and
trunk. Found a reciept for the repaint job, it was the $39 special but with
the extras those paint crooks at earl schieb gouged these people for $101.
But I guess if you drive a Caddy, you can afford to blow $100 on a paint
job, must be nice???
First Corvettes Being Built - 1953
Rare home movies chronicle the first Corvettes going into production. Each
one is built by hand at the GM factory in Flint, Michigan. Only 300
Corvettes were built that first year. All 1953 Corvettes were white with a
red interior, all had Powerglide automatic transmissions mated to 150 HP,
six cylinder engines with three carburetors and dual Exhaust. Of those 300, 255 survived.
1976 Corvette Stingray Restoration
Over the past year and a half I've been doing a frame on restoration of my
'76 corvette. Most everything has been replaced, repaired or modified in
some way with some customization along the way. The paint was most recent
and something I did mostly on my own but the painter did the body work and
sprayed the car but I did the striping, teardown of the car, sanding all
the layers of primer and color sanding after the paint was layed down.
Now it's time to enjoy driving the car and going to some local cruise in

This is the story of a '66 Buick Special convertible that had been
abandoned in Arizona in 1978 by the family of Rick Pewe, editor of 4-Wheel

conjunction with Rick, spent four days bringing the car back from the dead
with plans to drive it home from Phoenix to Los Angeles. This is part 1,
with the hacking fun the guys had rescuing the car. Look for part two,
loaded with road-trip hilarity. The story is printed in the September 2011
