How to Super Clean Your Windshield with Steel Wool

It sounds crazy but rubbing STEEL WOOL on your WINDSHIELD won't hurt it! Tempered windshield glass is higher on the MOHS scale of hardness than steel wool, so it won't scratch. We'll show you how to improve the clarity of the glass and improve visibility. After a little time goes by, every windshield gets a little hazy. That goes double for autos that are towed right behind a large motorhome. Using our toad (towed car), we show you how to use fine steel wool, Rain-X and Invisible Glass to make your view just a little bit clearer. Although our car's windshield has a lot of little nicks from over a decade of being towed behind our motorhome, we still want to keep it as clear as possible. Regular washing can't remove the fine dirt that gets into the pores of the glass, so we use a little detailer's trick that we learned years ago: 0000 steel wool. While you'd expect that steel wool would scratch the glass, it's exactly the opposite. Just like furniture makers use extra-fine steel wool to rub out the surface of the wood after each coat of stain, it polishes glass the same way. NOTE: We use extra-fine 0000 steel wool in this video. It's EXTREMELY FLAMMABLE, so exercise care in storing and using it. UPDATE: A viewer wrote to say that he experienced some areas of scratching after trying this. I've never heard of it scratching before, so I just did a little Googling, and while there seem to be some people who question using steel wool, others swear by it. Some also think you should never us a razor blade on glass, and others do it all the time. One suggestion was to use wet steel wool (of course it will then rust, so pitch it afterwards). Another mentioned buying something called "Poli-Flex Rubberized Clayblock" for cleaning. Although I cannot guarantee that scratching is impossible, many people who've tried steel wool since seeing this video have been thrilled with the results. Either way, proceed slowly and with caution and at your own risk. The intro music is my own piano performance of Scott Joplin's Maple Leaf Rag from 1899. Join us at for more great RVing content! How to Remove Scratches from Glass
How to remove scratches on glass? For a fraction of the cost, we will repair your scratched glass. Don't replace your scratched glass!! We remove all sizes of scratches, watermarks, stains, welder slag and blemishes on different types of glass, of any size, saving you money. We also repair glass that has been affected by acid etched and graffiti on store fronts on commercial properties. We are experts in polishing those impossible-to-clean hard water stains on your shower doors. We specialize in glass restoration, transforming your glass back to its new condition and make it look as good as it did on day one. Who are we? My name is Pedro Diaz, and I’m the owner of The Glass Scratch Remover of Miami. I have been working in every facet of the glass industry for over a decade. Early on, I realized that when a panel of glass was scratched, regardless of size, it was almost always discarded and completely replaced. Expensive glass shower doors with watermarks or stains were being thrown away, same was the case of glass windows with scratches or damaged sliding glass doors. This seemed wasteful, nor did it guarantee that the same panel wasn't going to be scratched again in the future. As a result of seeing so many pieces of glass wasted in the process, I embarked on a journey to learn how to remove scratches from glass and help so many disappointed owners and to save them money. Over the following 7 years, my team and I have perfected the art of glass scratch removal. During this time, our hard work and dedication to our clients has made us the leaders in the marketplace. We truly work hard every day to ensure that our clients are satisfied, and we will not rest until the job is done right. When is it worth repairing glass scratches? Simply put, a glass panel should be repaired when it's more expensive to replace it. This happens the majority of the time a scratch is discovered. Some very light scratches can be buffed away using a product called cerium oxide, but if the scratch is deep enough that it can be felt by running your finger nail across it and getting it caught in the scratch, you should only use professional removal. Experts like us have the necessary tools and experience to completely remove scratches from the glass surface, leaving little or no distortion. All it takes is a phone call, and after a quick site visit you should have an accurate estimate for a professional and efficient glass repair. Tools of our trade? We use a myriad of tools and advanced compounds to polish and repair glass. Special attachments and buffing pads of varying textures and degrees of roughness allow for a custom system that is flexible enough to address any level of repair. Our system of glass scratch repair treatment typically progresses through four levels of abrasive pads, specially designed to perform microscopic cutting through glass. Upon the initial scratch removal using these pads, a faint haze remains on the surface. We then use a cerium oxide compound to leaving you with a crystal clear glass as the moment it shipped from the factory. Major glass scratches repairs is our specialty, and our meticulous process and quality control standards are the solution to all your glass needs. Put Silver Foil In Washing Machine And You'll Be Amazed With What Happens Next
If you’re like most people, you use aluminum foil to line a roasting pan and cover your leftovers. You may even use a crumpled up piece of foil to give your pots and pans a good scour. But aluminum foil has dozens of other uses that can save you time and money. Here are 8 easy ways you can use and reuse aluminum foil that will make your life easier. 1.Improve Your Wi-Fi Signal If you’re the one who’s not satisfied with the speed of your Wi-Fi or want to increase router Wi-Fi strength, then with aluminum foil, you can increase and strengthen your Wi-Fi signals. Wrap foil to a rectangular cardboard, curve it and place it behind the antenna of your router. This aluminum foil will reflect the wireless signals into the direction that you wanted to be. 2.Fix a battery connection Over time, the little spring that holds the batteries in place within electronics such as flashlights can loosen. Take a small square of aluminum foil, about an inch squared, and fold it a few times, forming a small pad. Place the pad between the battery and the spring. The foil will keep the battery in place while completing the circuit.  3.Sharpen your scissors If you need to sharpen your scissors and get rid of rust, Fold several layers of foil and Cut smoothly through the foil ensuring all the blade touches the foil with each cut. Repeat several times, check the sharpness of scissors and repeat if needed. 4.Remove static electricity from your clothes Have you ever noticed dust particles getting attached to your clothes while drying your washed clothes? This happens because of static charge. The simple solution is to put some foil balls in the washer together with the laundry. After washing, your clothes won’t accumulate electricity and attract dust and hairs. 5.Move furniture easily Unless you're the Incredible Hulk, moving heavy furniture across carpet is difficult, back straining process. Make the process a little easier with a bit of aluminum foil. Just stick it under the furniture's legs and it should drag across the carpet much easier. 6.Protect food from burning In order to protect food from sticking in the frying pan, put a layer of foil at the bottom. This is also how you can cook without oil. 7.Seal plastic bags Fold a piece of aluminum foil over the opening of the bag. Make sure the aluminum foil covers all the plastic you intend on ironing so the iron does NOT come into contact with the actual plastic. Now run the hot iron over the foil for a minute or two, allowing the plastic to melt and seal. Let cool and remove the aluminum foil. 8.Iron clothes from both sides at once Put some aluminum foil under the clothes before ironing. Foil becomes hot really fast, and this is how your clothes can b
