74 Chevy Nova update 14 - The Chosen Color HD

Here is the color I have chosen for the 74 Chevy Nova. From the factory my Nova was a solid red color. I wanted to continue the same color but bring it more modern with Mazda's Velocity Red Mica (color code 27A). Has great metallic shine and the red is a really Rich color.

74 Chevy Nova Update 12 - Block Sanding Doors #2 with Timelapse
Here I block sand my Door panels for the second time. When I reprimed the doors, I added extra paint to the lows so that I can block sand the doors smooth. I show this in this video with timelapse of the actual sanding process from start to finish.

1973 CHEVY NOVA SS COUPE -- THE SMALLEST MUSCLE CAR
The 1973 model year introduced a hatchback bodystyle based on the 2-door coupe. The front and rear of the Nova were restyled, following a government mandate for vehicles to be fitted with front and rear bumpers capable of absorbing a low-speed impact of 2.5 mph. To go along with the bigger bumpers, stylists gave the Nova a new grille with a loosely patterned crosshatch insert and parking lights located inboard of the headlights. In 1974, they could absorb 5 mph impacts. An SS option remained available, but it was merely a $123 dress-up package that included a blackout grille and Rally wheels. It could be ordered with any of the Nova engines. 35,542 SS packages were installed, making 1973 the best-selling year for the option. A modified rear side window shape was also introduced, eliminating the vent windows on both two- and four-door models. A revised rear suspension was adapted from the second generation Camaro with multi-leaf springs replacing the mono-leaf springs used on Novas since the original 1962 model. By this time, six-cylinder and V8 engines were de rigueur for American compact cars, with the 307 cubic inch and 350 cubic inch V8s becoming fairly common. This SS coupe has a 350 cid / 175 hp. I couldn't pass this Nova up even though the engine wasn't showing and the windows were up. It just looked mighty fine in the red paint with the black racing stripe down the side. Painted bumpers added to the dressed up look. So, this is what the smallest muscle car looked like, a lightweight mid-size car with plenty of punch and smaller than the Camaro muscle car. Thanks very much for viewing this 1973 Chevy Nova SS coupe.
