2014 Toyota Tundra Truck First Drive, Off-Road Test, and Walkaround Video Review
The Toyota Tundra has always been known for its legendary quality, durability, reliability, and ruggedness. This great pick-up truck has been redesigned and re-engineered for the 2014 model year. The Tundra has 5 different trim levels starting with the base SR5 that costs $25,920 and topping out at the 1794 Edition costing $47,320. Check Out More on the 2014 Toyota Tundra http://www.autobytel.com/toyota/tundra/2014/?id=32972 Up front you will notice the massive front grille with a trapezoidal design. The whole front end is much more angular than last year's model. The headlights are all new and you will get daytime LED's on the higher trim levels. The 3-piece front bumper means customers can replace damaged sections resulting in lowered costs if necessary. The lines of the 2014 Toyota Tundra are much more chiseled and angular compared to the 2013 model. There is a pronounced character line that runs from the headlight all the way down the side of the truck. The taillights are all new and feature vortex generators to improve airflow around the vehicle. The tailgate has an integrated spoiler for better aerodynamics. There is a backup camera located in the tailgate handle for all models and the tow hitch is integrated into the frame at the rear axle. On the inside Toyota has adopted materials usually reserved for more upscale automobiles. The instrument cluster has been redesigned with a multi-function TFT screen displaying a multitude of engine vitals. The infotainment system has been revamped and you can access a ton of apps through the center touch-screen display. On the crew-max quad cab models the rear seats have been engineered to fold up in order to add yet a bit more cargo room. The 2014 Toyota Tundra is a very capable off-road pickup truck. The A-TRAC System is essentially an electronic locking front and rear differential. The Off-Road package adds things like special Michelin LTX2 tires, Bilstein Shock Absorbers, Skid Plates, and more. The top of the line engine is a 5.7 liter V-8 that makes 381 horsepower and is linked to a 6-speed automatic transmission. Toyota is aiming to top the sales mark from last year by 30%. And the brass at Toyota want you to know that the 2014 Toyota Tundra is designed, engineered, and built in America.
