1961 Impala LS engine install
This is the last test fit of an L92 engine that I am installing in my 1961
Impala. This is the same engine as in the 2008 Cadillac Escalade, and I am
using an L76 intake, so this is very comparable to an LS2 or LS3 engine,
but the torque curve peaks a little sooner. This is probably the 10th test
fit - I had to play around with different engine mount adapters, different
engine mounts, and I had to modify the oil pan to clear the frame
crossmember - but it finally fits.
LS1 Engine Video 9 camshaft, oil pump and head installation - (Carburetorssuck.com)
In the ninth video of this LS1 Rebuild video series, I install the oil
galley plugs, cam shaft, lifters, lifter trays, timing chain, oil pump,
windage tray, pick up tube, oil pan, heads, push rods and rocker arms.
