Driving Turbo M3 part 2
Follow me on instagram for more pictures @wojwoj I finally made this video as a response to all of the viewer comments to my first turbo m3 video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WtYpCPt7gd8 A lot of viewers hated my first one. I hope this one is better. Read the car description below if you are interested. The purpose of this car build was to build a highly reliable, high horsepower turbo BMW M3, that will produce between 600 to 800 whp while maintaining the M3 look, engine and feel. Two donor cars were selected that sacrificed their lives for the project. A 1997 BMW M3 sedan and a 1994 BMW 325is coupe. Since I wanted this car to be a coupe for more sporty and aggressive look, the body shell was used from the coupe. Also the coupe shell was in much better shape than the sedan. The car's exterior was in excellent condition with no rust and little to no imperfections. Next the shell was completely stripped down for painting. House of Kolor was selected as the paint manufacturer because of their excellent reputation in the show car industry. They have some of the longest lasting paints on the market. The shell and all body parts were then sprayed with 6 coats of Cosmic Red and 4 coats of House of Kolor Klear. The body was widened to fit the wide wheel/tire setup that was planned for the car so it can achieve more traction. The wheel wells were properly trimmed and sealed and fitted with custom fiberglass fenders. Body was later updated with all new weather striping, seals, molding, tail lights, headlights and corners for a restored look. Front glass was also replaced. The interior of the car needed some redesign for a complete look. I wanted to make the car somewhat luxurious but aggressive and race ready at the same time. First off a roll cage was designed and welded to the chassis. I chose not to go with a full cage and only go with a half cage mounted to the rear shock towers. The roll bar was welded to box reinforcements on the floor to provide maximum integrity and strength. Roll bar design was kept up to SCCA specs. For safety the car was fitted with Recaro pole position seats and 6 point harnesses. I updated the interior with all black M3 luxury package which included the leather door cards, rear cards, rear seat, black grab handles, sun visors and interior lights. I could not source a headliner in a good enough condition to use on this car, therefore, the headliner and all pillars were custom upholstered with suede, foam backed, UV resistant fabric. For a better look and feel a Sparco steering wheel was fitted to the vehicle. Not missing any details I added a Momo shifter and ebrake leather boots and some new OEM floor mats.
