2012 Mazda Mazda2 Test Drive & Car Review
http://www.autobytel.com/mazda/mazda2/2012/?id=32972 Here in America we think bigger is better. But now with gas prices on the rise the smaller sub-compact car is getting all the attention. Mazda brought over the 2012 Mazda2 to take on the likes to the Nissan Versa and Honda Fit. The Mazda2 is a bit more sporty and full of Zoom Zoom! There is no mistaking the 2012 Mazda2 for anything else with its bright green paint and front bumper with a huge smile. Mazda kept things simple when it comes to the Mazda2. The base price is $14,530 and the car is powered by a 1.5 liter 4-cylinder engine that makes 100 horsepower and 98 lb-ft. of torque.  Fuel economy checks in at 29 MPG in the city and 35 MPG on the highway. On the inside the Mazda features a driver focused cockpit. The seat is cushioned, the manual transmission is perfectly place, the gauges are easy to read, and the buttons are in the right place. The 2012 Mazda2 is frugal, fun to drive, and practical. It is a fantastic car. Mazda knows how to make a sporty car no matter the price point. The 2012 Mazda2 might be the most fun you can have with a 100 horsepower engine. 2013 Toyota Yaris Test Drive & Subcompact Car Video Review
http://www.autobytel.com/toyota/yaris/2013/?id=32972 The 2013 Toyota Yaris is part of the increasingly popular subcompact car segment. These vehicles combine excellent fuel economy and the low base prices into one appealing package. The Yaris is now in its 3rd generation and is sold as both a 2 and 4-door hatchback. For 2013 the sedan configuration has been dropped from the Yaris line-up. This little subcompact car is safe, versatile, fuel efficient, and affordable with a base starting price of only $14,370. The Toyota Yaris has is origins way back in the year 1999 with the Echo. The Echo enjoyed a bit of success thanks to the lack of competition. Fast forward to 2013 and this subcompact car segment is packed full of great competitors. This 3rd generation car has gone through a couple of iterations but the practical hatchback design has stood the test. The engine that powers the 2013 Toyota Yaris is nothing revolutionary. The 1.5 liter 4-cylinder makes 106 horsepower and 105 lb-ft. of torque with fuel economy figures of 30 MPG in the city and 37 MPG on the highway. Transmission choices are between a 4-speed automatic and a 5-speed manual. Some other competitors in this segment are the: Ford Fiesta, Chevrolet Sonic, Hyundai Accent, Kia Rio, and the Mazda2. A couple of those cars feature a direction injection engine while others feature a 6-speed transmission. The Yaris may be a bit behind the times but what separates the little Toyota from the competition is the great resale value and reliability. If you are looking for a functional and reliable car that is going to serve a purpose, the 2013 Toyota Yaris does it as well as anyone. 2014 Toyota Yaris SE Test Drive & Small Car Video Review
http://www.autobytel.com/toyota/yaris/2014/?id=32972 The Yaris is the smallest and least expensive car that Toyota sells here in the U.S. Do you get good value for money if you buy a Toyota Yaris? Well when stacked up against the competition maybe. One thing you can be sure of is that the build quality and reliability is there since this is a Toyota Product. The Yaris has 12 different trim models with a base price as low as $14,430. The SE model with the manual transmission tested here costs $16,540. Under the hood is a 1.5 liter 4-cylinder that makes 106 horsepower and 103 lb-ft. of torque. You get either a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed automatic transmission, both of which seem a decade behind the times. The fuel economy estimates are good at 30 MPG in the city and 37 MPG on the highway. The Yaris only comes as a hatchback for the 2014 model year. This compact small car is lacking in rear cargo storage room. The backseat however is not too shabby when it comes to space. This being an entry level car, the interior materials are not going to be anything special. But surprisingly the Yaris is pretty nice. The Nissan Versa has more interior room, the Chevy Spark is more fun to drive, and the Mitsubishi Mirage gets better fuel economy. All these cars also cost less than the Yaris. But you can bank on Toyota reliability and build quality. See More Car Videos http://www.autobytel.com/car-videos/?id=32972 Join Our Facebook Page http://www.facebook.com/autobytel

2012 Toyota Prius Test Drive & Hybrid Car Review
http://www.autobytel.com/toyota/prius/2012/?id=32972 There is really only one car that comes to mind when the subject of hybrid cars comes up. The Toyota Prius was the car that changed the game when it came to fuel economy. The design of the 2012 Toyota Prius is meant to help the car slip through the air as easily as possible. Less drag directly results in better fuel economy which is why many hybrid vehicles on the road today have the same wedge shape as the Toyota Prius. In fact the 0.25 drag coefficient on the 2012 Prius is one of the lowest figures of any mainstream vehicle. Toyota engineers have spent countless hours in the wind tunnel so that you can go further with less fuel. The base model Prius starts at $23,015 with the top of the line model going for just under $30,000. The 2012 Toyota Prius is powered by Toyota's famous Hybrid Synergy Drive System which is comprised of a 1.8 liter 4-cylinder engine and an electric motor. The Atkinson Cycle engine is good for 98 horsepower and the added electric motor makes and additional 36 HP bringing the total power on the 2012 Toyota Prius up to 134 horsepower. There is a Continuously Variable Transmission that helps in the fuel economy department. The Prius also has a start-stop system and can run on electric power alone up to 15 MPH. These fuel saving tactics combined with the low drag coefficient and efficient engine allow the 2012 Toyota Prius Hybrid to get 51 MPG in the city and 48 MPG on the highway. You know what you are getting into when you get behind the wheel of a Toyota Prius. You are going to have full electric operation at low speeds, a little bit of noise once the gas engine is engaged, and an overall smooth driving experience. There is nothing sporty or exciting about driving the 2012 Toyota Prius. The main reason you buy one of these hybrids is for the outstanding fuel economy and the Prius delivers. And if you are looking at buying a hybrid vehicle the Toyota Prius is still the king.
