245k miles Cadillac Deville (V8 Engine) gets 28.4 MPG
My Cadillac Deville has 245k miles on it. I never had any problem with it since I bought it in 2003. I just came back from a long trip to los vegas. The car get over 28 MPG on highway.
Everything is orignial except the tires and brake pads/rotors and blower motor. The blower motor was faild in 2005. I took the bad motor out and found it was made in Japan.
1998-2004 Cadillac Seville: Issues and Recommendations
The purpose of this video is to inform people on what to look out for when
shopping for a Cadillac Seville. This only applies to the 5th Generation
(1998-2004) models, though certain issues pertaining to the Northstar and
the CVRSS suspension can be applied to any Cadillac with those particular

This car has an Intech 4.6L 32 Valve DOHC V8 producing 275 HP & 275 lbs Ft.
Torque while paired to a 4 Speed Auto.
Now, because this is a FWD car, Ford purposely detuned the engine so it
wouldn't easily murder the transmission which it still can As/Is. At full
potential, it kicks around 320+ HP & 400 HP+ with some mods.
I ditched the Taurus Wagon & got this for just a little more. For some
reason, I get much better gas mileage in this.
2003 Cadillac Deville Start Up, Engine, and In Depth Tour
In this video I give a full in depth tour of the 2003 Cadillac Deville. I

while showing details, over viewing of features, and noting unique styling
cues to the vehicle itself. I also show the engine and the details of it,
start it up and see how it sounds under acceleration. A thorough

Mixing one of the biggest and smoothest V8s GM ever produced with
mirror-like paint and a spacious, comfortable interior, this classy DeVille
puts a new twist on 'Standard of The World'. And if you've always dreamed
of owning a big American cruiser that's high on style and loaded with
comfort, it's just the opportunity you've been waiting for!
Not completely devoid of character, like so many traditional, frame-off
restorations, this road-ready drop-top is an exhilarating combination of
factory-correct blitz and tasteful glam. Appearing both solemn and
official, its Jet Black paint reflects an excellent shine that literally
glows when crouching under the sun. And that modern two-stage covers what
appears to be clean, mostly original sheetmetal which displays no sign of
botched repairs or historic damage.
Cadillac, once the world's leading proprietor of fine, 16-cylinder motor
coaches, knows a thing or two about performance. For example, this
convertible's correct, 472 cubic inch monster block, which is one of the
largest V8s ever produced, turns stout 10 to 1 compression into a smooth
And while GM Powertrain did provide engines that generated more power, this
mill was designed to idle silently, create instantaneous thrust and emit
merely a whisper from its tailpipe. Judging by the appearance of the car's
satin black bay, it's been on a regular maintenance schedule, benefitting
from periodic, full-scale detailing. Many of the motor's original ancillary
items have been replaced by flashier hardware including: a chrome,
single-snorkel air cleaner, chrome valve covers, a polished radiator
overflow and an HEI distributor that's complete with 8mm Hi Temp wires. And
thanks to two Optima gel cell batteries, the car fires so smoothly you may
not even notice it's running.
Behind that big engine, an original turbo-Hydramatic 400 3-speed spins a traditional
GM 12-bolt that's complete with smooth 2.98 gears. Speaking of smooth, the
car's long and low suspension, which is augmented with Air Ride
Technologies air bags, glides over almost any imperfection with virtually
no drama. And all that proven hardware rolls on slick Centerline Smoothies
which spin 245/40R20 Firestone Firehawks around detailed Cadillac crests.
If you're a fan of big time comfort, you'll be absolutely thrilled by this
DeVille's custom black interior! The '63 Cadillac front and chopped rear
seats are firm, supple and display virtually no signs of aging. In front of
those half power, half manual seats, a modernist, crack-free dash hangs a
contoured instrument panel between a billet mirror, a modern Pioneer CD
player, controls for the car's Air Ride Technologies suspension and
chrome-trimmed foot pedals. In front of the driver, a custom '59 Cadillac
steering wheel spins a chrome horn ring around a tilting column and simple
chrome gear selector. And behind the passengers, a Dynamat-lined trunk
seals a giant subwoofer behind a Pioneer CD changer, two JL Audio amps, a
small bass tube, a fifth Centerline/Firestone combo and a small, South
County Customs jack.
This DeVille is an extremely high-quality cruiser with no question marks
attached. Don't miss your opportunity to own one of the coolest Caddys on
the planet! Call, click or visit http://RKMotorsCharlotte.com today.
Zero to 60 Run--4.6 Cadillac Northstar V8 vs. 4.9 OHV V8
Zero to 60 comparison between my new 2001 Cadillac Seville SLS with a 4.6
Northstar V8 and the 1991 Cadillac Sedan de Ville with a 4.9 that I've
owned since 2005. The Northstar in the Seville is faster, especially at the top end, but the
good old 4.9 in the DeVille holds its own--especially for an 18-year-old
car with 257,000 miles on it.
Judging from the time codes in the video, the Seville did it in 7 second
flat; the DeVille is just over 9 seconds.
Interestingly, both cars shift from 1st to 2nd at 45 MPH, and both hold 2nd
gear all the way up to ~80 MPH. Without a tach in the DeVille, I have no
idea how high it was revving, but it probably went close to redline.
The noise you hear besides the engine revving in the Seville is raindrops
on the windshield. I had the camera on a tripod held down between my legs
in the Seville; in the DeVille, it's just handheld, so it's shakier.
Both runs done on Stapleton Rd. just south of Monmouth/Independence, Oregon
HOW TO- Engine Tuning (Cadillac Brougham 5.7 350 V8)
My PROJECT is moving full speed ahead with my BROUGHAM, I did a complete
tune up of the engine today and this video shows the work in progress. In
just a few days or so you will see some EXTERIOR views of this solid and
stately highway Cruiser!! So stay tuned for more.
Cadillac head gasket repaired
You check for leaks and everything looks good. Your mechanic checks the
cooling system and also finds nothing wrong. In fact, most Cadillacs can
idle all day and not loose a drop of coolant or overheat. However, as soon
as you get on the freeway the temperature starts to go up and the low
coolant light appears again. When you check the coolant level it's very
low. Frequently requiring a gallon or more to refill. Without any clear
indication as to what's causing the problem your mechanic may suggest
replacing various cooling system components. Again, this may resolve the
problem for a while, but soon the low coolant light re-appears. What to do?

Forgot to upload this a few weeks ago when I filmed it. Overall its a
pretty nice car and the end of an era for Cadillac but none of that can
mask the fact it drives like absolute hell.

Cadillac Deville Sedan DTS 4.9L V8 Start Up & Test Drive Cadi De Ville
85,000 Miles Video Review http://www.1OwnerCarGuy.com This is a nice 1
Owner Cadillac Deville that only has 85,000 Original Miles on it. This car
is clean and a nice runner. It has one of my favorite motors in these the
4.9L V8 which is a very reliable motor and you don't have to worry about it
like you do a Northstar. This car floats down the road just like a Cadillac
should. It fires right up and runs, drives, and shifts great. This car is
not perfect but it is nice for someone who doesn't mind fixing a few things
here and there. It is dark blue in color with a matching full vogue top.
The paint and top are both in good condition. The body is straight on this
car. This car has a lot of chrome on it and it just shines in the sun. The
interior is very nice and the leather seats and carpet show hardly any
wear. It is a Cadillac so it is fully loaded with power everything and all

In 1991, a 200 hp (150 kW) 4.9-liter V8 — the largest of this type —
became the new standard powerplant. Also new was a grille of an inverted
trapezoid design (almost upside-down from last years egg-crate keystone
design), and revised bumper and body-side moldings. The new grille held the
familiar shape of the Cadillac crest itself — a styling cue that
continues on to this day. The grille was now attached to the forward edge
of the hood, and lifted up along with the hood when raised (similar to
Mercedes-Benz). The secondary hood release latch was at the bottom of the
grille instead of its previous location above the passenger side headlight.
In addition to the new engine and minor front-end restyling, several
previously optional features became standard this year, including the
anti-lock braking system, accent striping, automatic door locks, twilight
sentinel headlamp control, electrochromic inside rear-view mirror, and
electric rear window and side mirror defogger. New standard features
included rear-seat air conditioning vents, central door unlocking from the
driver's door and luggage compartment, sun visors with shaded slide-out
extensions, rear window lock-out switch, brake / transmission interlock
safety switch, and an oil life indicator through the fuel data center.
Other new features included the available remote keyless entry system, and
the optional illuminated mirrors now featured a slide switch that offered
variable intensity lighting.

1964 Cadillac: Big, Black & Blown - /BIG MUSCLE
This is a 1964 Cadillac DeVille drop-top. It's got a blown 468 cubic-inch
big block, 600 plus horsepower, and if you
haven't figured it out by now, it's a friggin' carnival ride on four
wheels. I stumbled upon this amazing machine while walking through a car
show in Alameda, CA and after speaking with owner Ron Dean, I knew it was
something that had to be featured on BIG MUSCLE. Stretching 20-feet in
length and having a personality that simply can't be ignored, this old
DeVille not only kicks sand in the face of other hot-rods, but does so
while maintaining all the comfort and class that vintage Cadillac's are
