245k miles Cadillac Deville (V8 Engine) gets 28.4 MPG
My Cadillac Deville has 245k miles on it. I never had any problem with it since I bought it in 2003. I just came back from a long trip to los vegas. The car get over 28 MPG on highway.
Everything is orignial except the tires and brake pads/rotors and blower motor. The blower motor was faild in 2005. I took the bad motor out and found it was made in Japan.
I do not own the rights to this film. This is for fair use only.

Cadillac head gasket repaired
You check for leaks and everything looks good. Your mechanic checks the
cooling system and also finds nothing wrong. In fact, most Cadillacs can
idle all day and not loose a drop of coolant or overheat. However, as soon
as you get on the freeway the temperature starts to go up and the low
coolant light appears again. When you check the coolant level it's very
low. Frequently requiring a gallon or more to refill. Without any clear
indication as to what's causing the problem your mechanic may suggest
replacing various cooling system components. Again, this may resolve the
problem for a while, but soon the low coolant light re-appears. What to do?

Unintended/Sudden Acceleration 2000 Cadillac DeVille DTS
Please watch entire Video!!! This is our story......We dropped our 2000
Cadillac DeVille DTS off at the local Cadillac Dealership in Lexington, KY
on 10/3/10 for a water pump repair and picked it up on 10/4/10 15 minutes
before closing time. My wife left the dealership after paying the bill, but
after travelling about 3/4 of a mile, the car started accelerating on it's
own. After realizing what was happening, she slammed on the brakes, got
into the local Southern States parking lot and slammed the vehicle into
park. As I pulled in beside her, the car was still revving at full
throttle. The video you are watching was taken with my cell phone while we
were waiting on the tow truck to pick up the car and take it back to the
dealership. The next morning 10/5, I met with the service manager as the
dealership was opening. He got into the vehicle, turned the key and the
vehicle was still revving at full throttle. He shut the car off and the
service writers pushed the vehicle out of the way so they could get the
vehicles behind it into the service writers bay to get their day started. A
few minutes later, the mechanic that worked on my car the day before showed
up and came outside to look at my car. He raised the hood, reached in to
the throttle body area and cycled the butterfly on the throttle body, came
out from under the hood and stated that nothing felt stuck. But when I
started the car again, it was back to normal idle. Go figure....now GM says
there is nothing wrong with my car and will not take any responsibility. My
wife WILL NOT get back into the car!!! HELP!!!!!

Best Head Gasket Sealer For Headgasket Leaks
ks/ (visit my site for more tips)
Did your mechanic tell you your car has a headgasket leak? I get TONS of
questions like this everyday and many of them are NOT head gasket leaks. I
made this video to help you determine if you DO or DO NOT have an internal
The FIRST, FIRST, FIRST thing you need to do is get a cooling system
pressure test. This fast and cheap test will help you determine if you have
an internal or external coolant leak.
If you are absolutely sure there are no external leaks, and the radiator is
not restricted and the electric radiator cooling fans are working, then try
this awesome sealer.
The product is called Engine Block Sealer, made by K&W. They have the old
version in a hard metal can and their new and "improved" version in a green
plastic bottle called Nano Technology. Both seem to work just fine.
I do not personally use the product as the instructions on the can say
(been using it my way for years with a 75-80% success rate and its much
My instructions for using K&W Block Sealer are:
1. Drain out all coolant from radiator as you possibly can.
2. Get a bucket and mix up the block sealer with tap water
3. Pour contents of the bucket into the radiator, top off with tap water
4. Then put 500 miles on the car as soon as you can
5. After 500 miles drain out the mix and reinstall coolant and water as
The seal should be permanent
You will NOT have boil over or freeze protection during this time period so
please keep the engine from freezing and overheating.
And no, I do not remove the spark plugs or the thermostat as the can says..
Just the steps above.
Hope this helps, visit my sites for more cool tips and information
Evaluating and Road test of a 1965 Cadillac Sedan DeVille
This one has some condition guide included. I walked around the car while
talking about grading cars using the Old Car Price Guide 1 to 6 rating. I
think guys that appraise collector cars need to always use the OCPG system.
This 65 Cadillac is a good solid #3 car. It is a good example of a nice
clean driver quality collector car.
How to Test Head Gasket
** Please see my other videos on this topic* Thx!
This video is intended for those who would like to know how to confirm a
damaged head gasket on a vehicle prior to making the decision to invest a
lot of money for repair. My apologies for the camera focus- next video I
will pay closer attention, but the information needed is viewable. Further
research should be done on the risks of overheating to the engine block and
such. This video is meant to simply show a 'how to' on the test method I
used quite often when professionally working on vehicles, the results of
which are based on chemistry and industry-standards of the time (1990's).
I hope you find this video useful. RI.
