Engine Rip-off of the Century - How I got Screwed by Bill Mitchell Hardcore Racing
Four years ago I bought a crate engine from Bill Mitchell Hardcore Racing. It was a total dissaster from start to finish. Within a year the engine had become a coffee table in the reception area in my office.
I can laugh at this $43,000 screw up because it is 3 or 4 years ago now. And because I think I may get the last laugh. Watch the video all the way to the end to see why.

Justin's 67 firebird
This is my firebird that i just picked up. I just finished rebuilding the carburetor and changing the oil. The motor is a 67 pontiac 400 with ram air III heads built by Scott Shafiroff racing engines, demon 750cfm carb, th400 tci transmission and a 10 bolt posi rear. The smoke in the engine bay is oil that I spilled on the headers and the ticking noise is the header gaskets leaking the car sat for a while.

There are loads of videos where people run an engine at full rev with no oil in it, and the engine seizes.
Running it a medium rev, I wanted to see how long it would run with no lubrication, and I was surprised.
However if the car was driving and the engine was under load, it would be dead in minutes!

454 BBC replaced with SSRE 582 - Dyno Run #1
Out with the old (454) in with the new (582). This is the engine I promised in the comments that is replacing my old 454 powerplant. As you can see from the end of the video this tree stump pullin' 582 monster has 784HP @ 6200RPM and 742ftlbs of torque @ 5000RPM. NO BOTTLE....and is streetable on pump gas at 10.5:1. Aside from the package Shafiroff offers on this engine, I had Wilson Manifolds provide intermediate porting and port matching of the intake to the DART PRO1 355cc heads which proves to be money well spent as it is giving this beast an additional 35HP over advertised on Shafiroff's website.
