Compliments - New Mercedes TV spot with Nico Rosberg, Michael Schumacher and Mika Häkkinen

Mercedes-Benz is kicking off the 2011 Formula 1 season with a new Silver Arrow and also with a new TV spot. Based around the motto "Racing is a state of mind", the short film entitled "Compliments" depicts the passion of Mercedes-Benz for motorsport and competition. With a touch of humour and self-deprecation, Nico Rosberg and Michael Schumacher play on their internal rivalry within MERCEDES GP PETRONAS team. Former world champion Mika Häkkinen -- an iconic figure who has appeared numerous times in humorous Mercedes-Benz TV spots over the past 15 years -- highlights, with the aid of an energy drink, on which team the rivalry should be focused at the start of the season. "The new Formula 1 season gets under way on Sunday with the race in Melbourne, and the deck has been shuffled again," explained Anders Sundt Jensen, Vice President Brand Communication Mercedes-Benz Cars. "The spot makes it clear, in a rather fun way, that motorsport is a way of life for our brand. In addition, it shows that we don't admit defeat if at first we don't achieve the goals we have set ourselves, but rather that we take up the challenge -- both within our team, as well as united against our competitors." The 45-second spot, created by Jung von Matt, will be shown by all major German broadcasters from tonight until Sunday to mark the start of the Formula 1 season.

Michael Schumacher is a seven-time Formula One World Champion and is widely regarded as one of the greatest F1 drivers of all time. Michael Schumacher holds many of Formula One's driver records, including most championships, race victories, fastest laps, pole positions and most races won in a single season -- 13 in 2004. In 2002 Michael Schumacher became the only driver in Formula One history to finish in the top three in every race of a season and then also broke the record for most consecutive podium finishes. According to the official Formula One website, Michael Schumacher is "statistically the greatest driver the sport has ever seen". After beginning with karting, Michael Schumacher won German drivers' championships in Formula König and Formula Three before joining Mercedes in the World Sportscar Championship. After one Mercedes-funded race for the Jordan Formula One team, Michael Schumacher signed as a driver for the Benetton Formula One team in 1991. After winning consecutive championships with Benetton in 1994/5, Michael Schumacher moved to Ferrari in 1996 and won another five consecutive drivers' titles with them from 2000 to 2004. Michael Schumacher retired from Formula One driving in 2006 staying with Ferrari as an advisor.[6] Michael Schumacher agreed to return for Ferrari part-way through 2009, as cover for the badly injured Felipe Massa, but was prevented by a neck injury. Michael Schumacher later signed a three-year contract to drive for the new Mercedes team starting in 2010. Michael Schumacher's career has not been without controversy, including being twice involved in collisions in the final race of a season that determined the outcome of the world championship, with Damon Hill in 1994 in Adelaide, and with Jacques Villeneuve in 1997 in Jerez.[10] Off the track Michael Schumacher is an ambassador for UNESCO and a spokesman for driver safety. Michael Schumacher has been involved in numerous humanitarian efforts throughout his life and donated tens of millions of dollars to charity.[11] Michael Schumacher and his younger brother Ralf Schumacher are the only brothers to win races in Formula One, and they were the first brothers to finish 1st and 2nd in the same race, in Montreal in 2001. The two brothers repeated this achievement in four more races (the 2001 French Grand Prix, the 2002 Brazilian Grand Prix, the 2003 Canadian Grand Prix and the 2004 Japanese Grand Prix). On 21 June 2009, Michael Schumacher appeared on the BBC's Top Gear as The Stig.[186] Presenter Jeremy Clarkson hinted later in the programme that Michael Schumacher was not the regular Stig, and the BBC has since confirmed that this is the case. Michael Schumacher was there on that occasion because Ferrari would not allow anyone else to drive the one-of-a-kind black Ferrari FXX which was featured in the show.[187] The FXX was presented to Michael Schumacher upon his retirement at Monza in 2006. During his interview with Clarkson, Michael Schumacher stated that his road cars are a Fiat 500 Abarth, and a Fiat Croma which is his family car. On 29 December 2013, Michael Schumacher was skiing with his son at a resort in Méribel on the French Alps when he fell and hit his head on a rock, sustaining a head injury even though he was wearing a helmet. Michael Schumacher was skiing outside the marked pistes at that time. Michael Schumacher was attended by two ski patrollers and airlifted within fifteen minutes to a hospital in Moûtiers, and then on to a hospital in Grenoble specialising in brain injuries. It was later revealed that Michael Schumacher was in critical condition and coma due to a brain trauma, and had undergone neurosurgery to relieve pressure on his brain. Michael Schumacher is under the care of physician Gérard Saillant, who is a brain and spinal injury expert and a personal friend of Michael Schumacher. Schumacher's younger brother Ralf was a Formula One driver until the end of 2007.[12] Their stepbrother Sebastian Stahl has also been competing as a race car driver.[172] In August 1995, Michael Schumacher married Corinna Betsch[173]. They have two children, Gina-Maria (born on 20 February 1997) and Mick (born on 22 March 1999). He has always been very protective of his private life. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michael_Schumacher
