Action from Supernats 2005 (I think). A few crashes and interesting tidbits
from the archives.
Summernats23 - CMEFRY goes up in flames
Can you imagine a more Apt numberplate for this car? CMEFRY (See Me Fry)
goes up in flames at the end of a massive smokefest. Grab the next issue of
Street Machine magazine to see some amazing pictures by Adam Morrissey from
Engine Explosion - Let The Pistons Hit The Floor
Think of the song by Drowning Pool and you'll see where we're headed. Mike
Roycroft unleashes destruction on his Valiant sedan unlike anything we've
ever seen before. How big a hole does it have to be to fit a complete
piston out of it? That's pretty wild.
BEST. POWERSKID. EVER.
I've seen some crazy powerskid action in my time but this Torana takes the
cake. With a big hit of Nitrous and a
heavy right foot this guy smokes the full length of the track in and aesome
display of skill and power.
If you've got a better powerskid then send me a video response.
Corowa Autofest 2010 - 1000hp Torana splits balancer on the dyno
This Torana is a pretty mean bit of gear, with a Vortech YSi hanging off
the side of a 434cube small block chev. It was looking promising to spin up
some huge numbers on the Dyno when the balancer split.
Although there was some concern the crank might have snapped the snout off,
it was later confirmed that it was just the balancer that broke.
1TUFSS Makes An Impressive Amount of Smoke
Normally we don't expect much from late model cars but this VE Commodore
impressed a few with the sheer amount of smoke it was producing. It had
smoke coming out of all orifices at Avalon.
Going Mentle - Extremely Close Call
Mentle at Easternats. This Camaro is Mentle by name and
Mental by nature. Milan Dokic almost lost it big time during this go to
whoa run at Easternats a few years back. Luckily he kept it off the wall
and delivered a smoking victory donut to celebrate.
VL Commodore spins at 160mph+
Turn your volume up for this one. Watch as Max Ellery spins out at over
160mph in his VL Commodore. Clean undies were most probably needed
HSVSS up in flames
An oldy but a goody. This highly modified twin tubo Walkinshaw owned by
Steve Santos goes up in flames when a fuel test at HP Heroes at Summernats
goes wrong. The fuel tester allowed fuel to hit the hot Exhaust manifolds not long after the car went
800hp+ at the tyres. The moral of the story is don't let anyone else touch
Peter Grmusa - Easternats 2006
Two times Summernats Champion Peter Grmusa doing a burnout at Easternats
The car is an XR Falcon with a blown 408 cube Clevo.
