I threw a rod in my original single port motor and a friend was kind enough to see me a dual port he had just finished building. I removed the mufflers to get a little more noise, and will eventually run a stinger Exhaust once I finish welding in my mk1 GTI seats in.

Starting The Phantom Ghia prostock VW
First fire up after engine assembly. The Phantom Ghia is a 9 second 1/4
mile, 1958 VW Karmann Ghia door slammer. Built by Robert Cook or Cooker's
V-Dubs in Clear Spring, Maryland and owned and driven by Rob Schultz.
****UPDATE**** this car now resides in France under new ownership.

Another test run...at 12psi. both of the little runs in the vid are
slightly uphill with some short shifts (I'm no racer) but you get the
picture. speedo marks are at the 20,40,60,80,100mph.

Here is a preview of how the car sits now, summer 2012. I have about 95% of
the bodywork done and have coated everything with 2 layers of black epoxy
primer. Lots more tune up has yielded a good running late model classic VW
beetle. As you can see I have a bunch of work left to do on the interior,
but all the gauges and lighting function. To beef everything up on the
3SGTE engine I had to utilize an aftermarket ECU, I chose the Vi-Pec. The
last part of the video shows what this setup can do. She's fast...

I have filmed this beautiful Red German Karmann Ghia Starting up, Little
revving and then driving away. It has an absolutely great noise!
