Testing Toyota's i-Road Trike in Japan | Autoblog
Testing Toyota's i-Road trike in Japan. Since 2003, Toyota has been rolling out new personal mobility concept vehicles at the Tokyo Motor Show. The first was simply called the PM -- for Personal Mobility -- in 2003. After that came the i-Unit in 2005, the i-Swing in 2005 and again in 2007, along with two takes on the i-Real in 2007 and 2009. Even though the PM had a canopy and was conceived for urban use, it was little more than a chair on wheels, and the concepts that followed shed the canopy and actually were chairs on wheels. Translogic 154: Elio Motors
The Elio is a motor tricycle that seats two and is capable of achieving 84 miles per gallon thanks to its lightweight, aerodynamic design and 3-cylinder, 0.9-liter gas engine. If deterred by the Elio's small footprint, slight seating capacity and modest performance, keep in mind its projected retail price of under $7,000 and the little 3-wheeler starts to make a bit more sense. Host Jonathon Buckley heads to Ontario, California to test the prototype Elio and meet its maker, Paul Elio. 2013 Campagna T-Rex 16S | Short Cuts | Autoblog
Watch as we take Campagna's new six-cylinder T-Rex 16S out for a spin in the canyons! Without a doubt, the three-wheel Campagna T-Rex 16S is one of the most fascinating vehicles I have ever driven. "Drive it like a car, but act like you are on a motorcycle," were the words of wisdom bestowed upon me before the keys were handed over, and the advice couldn't have been more accurate. During the next four days, I zipped blissfully around town with the wind blowing through my hair as I watched the front wheels articulate over the pavement. I could smell the ocean as I drove down Pacific Coast Highway, and taste the dry brush of the Santa Monica Mountains as I toured the canyons. The $6,800, 84-mpg Elio in Manhattan

Elio Motors - Up close in HD
Elio Motors 84mpg $6,800 Prototype! Seen here in San Jose, CA -- Oct. 2013 Gas today is at an all-time high. Space is becoming a smaller and smaller commodity. We're being crowded off our roads and bumped and dinged out of our parking lots. And cars cost more than the average house did only a few decades ago. Traditional personal transportation isn't working like it used to. We need a new way of getting around. That's when a car enthusiast, a visionary, a man with a dream named Paul Elio got an idea. A simple, brilliant idea. To create a vehicle for today's generation of drivers that addressed their transportation needs and the world's new realities. The result is Elio. And it certainly deserves a close look. The above is from www.ElioMotors.com I am in no way associated with Elio Motors.

Most-Fuel Efficient Car in the World - 2014 Volkswagen XL1 Walkaround Video Review @ LA Auto Show
http://www.autobytel.com/?id=32972 Volkswagen recently offered us the opportunity to test drive the world's most fuel efficient production vehicle, the 2014 XL1, after the LA Auto Show where we took the opportunity to have Volkswagen Technical Developer Christian Kolano to give us an in depth look at the limited production 283 MPG two seater from the future. The 2014 Volkswagen XL1 is powered by a turbo diesel two cylinder combined with an electric motor and a 7 speed dual clutch automatic mounted behind the passenger compartment. Much of the XL1's key to fuel efficiency lies in the sleek narrow body made from lightweight aerodynamic components like carbon fiber, aluminum and plastic. If the XL1 happens to sound like something you might be interested in, you will be hard pressed to hear that VW only plans on producing 250 examples priced at around $120,000 each; and will only be available in Europe.
