The ATON IMPULSE VIKING-2992 is a unique special purpose vehicle, ideal for heavy industry, exploration, arctic use, flood-relief, NGOs, rescue and emergency services. VIKING is the only amphibious off-road vehicle in the world to have passed through certification to meet UN/ECE regulations for unrestricted ON-ROAD USE. VIKING's world-leading amphibious capabilities are based around its purpose-designed flotation construction, centrally mounted engine and powerful water-jet propulsion enable it to ford open water at speeds of up to 15 km/h. The vehicle's wheels may be optionally engaged while in amphibious mode, providing unique ability to cope with shallow water and to transit the challenging littoral zone, where other vehicles commonly become stuck in soft mud. MAN HydroDrive
Zuschaltbarer hydrostatischer Vorderradantrieb für mehr Flexibilität bei niedrigem Verbrauch und hoher Nutzlast. Mithilfe des zuschaltbaren Vorderradantriebs MAN HydroDrive können Fahrsituationen und Einsatzbedingungen gemeistert werden, die Fahrzeuge mit reinem Hinterradantrieb nicht bewältigen könnten und somit zusätzlich Zeit und Geld kosten würden. Herzstück der hydrostatisch angetriebenen Motoren ist ein mit der Radnabe fest verbundener Zylinderblock mit acht sternförmig angeordneten Zylindern. In den Zylindern befinden sich spezielle Kolben; auf dem jeweiligen Kolbenboden sind drehbare Rollen angebracht. Diese Rollen stehen im Kontakt mit der wellenförmigen Kontur eines außen umlaufenden Nockenringes. Wird nun der MAN HydroDrive eingeschaltet, setzt eine am Getriebeausgang angeflanschte Pumpe die Radnabenmotoren mit bis zu 420 bar unter Druck. Diese werden dadurch in Drehung versetzt, dass immer abwechselnd nur bestimmte Zylinder mit Druck beaufschlagt werden, während gleichzeitig bei anderen Zylindern das Öl abfließen kann. Bei den unter Druck stehenden Zylindern wird der Kolben nach außen gepresst, die Rollen stützen sich am Nockenring ab und es entsteht ein Drehmoment. In traktionskritischen Situationen genügt ein Dreh am Sperrenschalter, um die Weiterfahrt zu ermöglichen und Verspätungen und zusätzliche Kosten zu vermeiden. Das heißt, mehr Terminsicherheit und höhere Effizienz. Mit MAN HydroDrive ausgerüstete Fahrzeuge sind flexibel einsetzbar, da sie sowohl auf der Strasse als auch in unbefestigtem Terrain effizient unterwegs sind: Trotz des erweiterten Einsatzspektrums sind Nutzlast und Kraftstoffverbrauch auf dem Niveau eines Fahrzeugs mit reinem Hinterradantrieb. Gegenüber einem Fahrzeug mit konventioneller Allradtechnik ergibt sich eine Gewichtseinsparung von etwa 400 kg. The MOWAG Piranha is a family of armoured fighting vehicles designed by the Swiss MOWAG, which since April 2010 has changed name to General Dynamics European Land Systems - Mowag GmbH. The MOWAG Piranha is available in 4x4, 6x6, 8x8, and 10x10 wheel versions. There are several variants within these versions, giving different degrees of armour protection and several kinds of turrets, for use in a variety of roles. Piranha derivatives have been assigned roles as troop transports, command vehicles, fire support vehicles, tank trainers, and police vehicles. Four generations of vehicles have been produced, manufactured by MOWAG or under license by other companies, and variants are in service with military forces throughout the world. Piranha derivatives have been manufactured under license by General Dynamics (Canada), BAE Systems Land Systems (UK), Komatsu (Japan), Cardoen and FAMAE (Chile), and in the USA. The 8x8 US Army Stryker vehicle is derived from the Canadian LAV III which in turn is based on the Piranha, as is the LAV-25 family in service with the USMC. The Australian Defence Force also has its own modified version of the Piranha I 8x8 known as the ASLAV (Australian Light Armoured Vehicle). The ASLAV is operated by two cavalry regiments (the 2nd Cavalry Regiment and 2nd/14th Light Horse Regiment) and is used in the armoured reconnaissance and armoured personnel carrier roles. The Light Armoured Tactical Vehicle
The requirement for LTAVs was identified in order to fill a capability gap that existed between soft skinned vehicles and Armoured Personnel Carriers (APCs). The need to deploy small groups in command, escort and specialist tasks when threat levels are elevated renders soft skinned vehicles inadequate. Similarly, the size and profile of APCs make them inappropriate for use in certain situations, such as built up areas with narrow streets. Therefore the need for a robust, flexible, multi-role vehicle to complement the existing APC fleet was recognised. Peace Support Operations are becoming increasingly complex and present many and varied threats to troops. Force protection was one of the primary considerations in the procurement of the vehicles. The RG32M provides substantial levels of protection from small arms fire, shell fragments, Roadside bombs and landmines, thereby enhancing the protection of our personnel. The vehicle combines speed with tactical versatility. It is lighter than an APC and is therefore more maneuverable and easier to transport by air. Training on the LTAV will commence shortly with an initial priority of equipping Ireland's commitment to the EU Nordic Battlegroup of 2011. The Defence Forces will commit 160 personnel to the Battlegroup, which will remain on standby for short-notice deployments around the world from January to July 2011. The Irish contribution comprises an Intelligence Surveillance and Target Acquisition (ISTAR) company and headquarters element. Four different variants of the vehicle have been purchased: A Standard variant which incorporates a protected weapons station; An Intelligence Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) variant fitted with specialist surveillance equipment; A Surveillance and Target Acquisition (STA) variant which incorporates enhanced Fire Control systems and a Communications Information and Signals (CIS) variant which is fitted with advanced communications systems.

He is currently at home trying to fix his Exhaust. The video was taken at the Maitland 4WD & Camping Show 2009 and the ramp is 5.5M above the ground. The majority of the drive is done with the driver seeing nothing but sky.
