Rosenthal: New BMW M5 or Audi S6?
Which is the better car? The 2013 Audi S6, with a base of $73,400, or the
2014 BMW M5 starting at $92,800? There's no doubt the M5 has the power to
get it done, but for the price does the S6 have what it takes to steal the
show? Steve compares everything from handling and speed to style and value.
2014 Audi RS7 vs 2014 Porsche Panamera Turbo! - Head 2 Head Ep. 49
On this episode of Head 2 Head, Jonny Lieberman looks at a type of car that
Germany does better than anyone else: the Super Sedan. The Porsche Panamera
turbo has long been one of Motor Trend's
favorites. Massive, ferocious, surprisingly nimble, and if your checkbook's
got the overhead, totally luxurious. But don't discount Audi. Ever since
the S8 showed up, Audi has shocked the car world by making such a big car
so dang fast. The only thing that could even compete was the Panamera turbo. The RS7 comes with an even more
powerful version of the familiar 4.0-liter twin-turbo V-8 -- 560 horsepower to be exact. For
2014, Porsche's seemingly underrated 4.8-liter twin-turbo V-8 is up 20 hp to a more-than-modest 520
hp. Faced with tough choices after the two hit the test track and a canyon
road, Jonny enlists the help of resident Motor Trend Hot Shoe Randy Pobst
to figure out which super sedan is best.
Head 2 Head appears every other Wednesday on the Motor Trend channel.

2012 Porsche Panamera Test Drive & Luxury Sports Car Video Review
http://www.autobytel.com/porsche/panamera/2012/ The 2012 Porsche Panamera
is an interesting combination of automotive delicacies. The Panamera is one
part sports car, one part luxury car, one part hatchback, and one part
sedan. Over the past decade, Porsche has created a few unique vehicles to
target a broad range of car buyers. The Boxster is aimed at the entry level
sports car enthusiast while the Cayenne is aimed at those looking for a
quick SUV. But the Panamera offers 911 performance with a usable back seat.
The 2012 Porsche Panamera can range from $75,200 for the base model all the
way to $173,200 for the top of the line turbo S model.
The vehicle tested in this video is the base model Panamera 4 (AWD). It is
powered by a lightweight and direct injected 3.6 liter V-6 engine that
makes 300 horsepower and 295 lb-ft. of
torque. The transmission is the famous PDK twin-cutch 7-speed unit that
shifts lighting quick. Fuel economy on the 2012 Porsche Panamera is 18 MPG
in the city and 26 MPG on the highway thanks in part to an auto start/stop
system which shuts down the engine while the car is sitting idle. Sixty MPH
flies by in 5.8 seconds and the Panamera 4 has a top speed of 159 MPH. The
Panamera handles incredibly well thanks to the Porsche Traction Management
system. The AWD monitors driving situations and can adjust power as need.
The Panamera is equipped with Anti-Slip Regulation and Automatic Brake
Porsche Active Suspension Management is optional on the Panamera 4. This
system provides electronic dampening at all 4 corners of the car thus
reducing body roll and increasing handling. The system will also tighten up
the setting based on the selection of modes: Comfort, Sport, and Sport
Plus. The rims are 18-inch alloys wrapped in sticky rubber. The 2012
Porsche Panamera comes with huge 360 mm brakes up front and 330 mm brakes
out back. The calipers are six-piston units. Safety wise besides all the
electronic computer controlled systems, the Panamera 4 features a full
compliment of 2-stage airbags for both the front and rear passengers.
With the rear seats up the Panamera has a luggage compartment with over 15
cubic feet of storage space. But with he seats down the hatchback design
allows for over 44 cubic feet of cargo room which is a large amount for
this segment. And believe it or not the 2012 Porsche Panamera can tow up to
4850 lbs. The Panamera is a very efficient and powerful sports car that
offers a high level of luxury and sophistication while being able to
transport 4 passengers in style.

Porsche could be criticised for being lacking a sense of adventure when it
comes to design, but its dedication to providing a fantastic driving
experience shines through with the Panamera. This oddly proportioned
hatchback is Porsche's first 'saloon', yet the German firm has injected it
with the DNA of a sports car.
Jay Leno drives Porsche Panamera Turbo
Jay Leno made a special appearance at the Porsche Zentrum located at the
Quail Lodge in Carmel Valley California. While there he met with old
friend David Donohue and the two went on a short drive in a Porsche
Panamera turbo. While on the test
drive, Donohue taught Jay the proper way to use launch control in the new
four dour Porsche. In 2005, Donohue and Leno both set several speed
records in a production Porsche Carrera GT at Talladega Superspeedway in
