How to install K&N Air Filter BMW E46 3-Series [HD]
A do-it-yourself (DIY) how-to video of installing a K&N 33-2231 High Performance Replacement Air Filter. This is the drop-in kind. The car I am doing it on is a 2002 BMW 325CI, but it should work on all 3-Series E46 Models between 2000-2006 (except the M3). Retail prices is $66, but I got it off Amazon for $39. Installing a K&N Cold Air Intake on a 3 Series BMW E46 Chassis, (M54 Engine)
In this video I show you how to install a K&N® Cold Air Intake kit on a BMW 3 Series E46 Chassis, (M54 Engine). Car: 2005 BMW 330xi Sedan This video immediately follows my previous video where I show you how to remove the OEM Air Snorkel and Air Filter Box: http://youtu.be/gRcY3nDoWEs The K&N® Cold Air Intake purchased was Product ID 57-1001: http://www.knfilters.com/search/product.aspx?prod=57-1001 However, I purchased mine from an eBay® seller for approx $40 less than on the K&N® site: http://bit.ly/XdmYAb With this K&N Cold Air Intake kit installed, and depending on the age and model of your car, you should see modest gains in both fuel economy and horsepower. The K&N® web site shows a Dyno chart indicating a 11.46hp gain and 9.8lb/ft of torque gain on a Stock 2004 BMW 330i so I'm expecting comparable gains with my 330xi hopefully. The thing I really liked about this mod is the fact that K&N® utilizes the OEM air intake snorkel which brings in cold air from the kidney grill. It also uses a heat shield to isolate the filter from the hot engine bay air. Nice work K&N®!
