Mazda 787b Goodwood FoS 2011 Startup
Great to see this car running again. I was at Le Mans in 1991, I was also there this year but missed it's return run.

This is the 1991 Le Mans winning Mazda 787B at the start line of the 2011 Goodwood Festival of Speed. You can get a good idea of the sound this thing produced by watching the the marshal at the right rear when the car backfires!

This is a quick clip of one of the first practice runs the Mazda 787B did up the hill at the Goodwood Festival of Speed 2011. Mark Ticehurst is behind the wheel.

The 787B and RX-792B both use the 4-rotor R26B an engine that is easily capable of at least 900 HP, but limited for long term racing reliability to 700 HP.
Racing rotary engines are easily one of the loudest Exhausts at idle and arguably the loudest Exhaust note on the track at full song. An incredible engineering feat and incredible engine.
