Volkswagen GTI Stock vs. Magnaflow Exhaust by WINDING ROAD

Turn up your speakers, plug in your headphones, Winding Road has made an Exhaust note comparison video! We drive the 2011 two-door Volkswagen GTI with the stock Exhaust against a 2010 four-door Volkswagen GTI with an aftermarket Magnaflow cat-back Exhaust. Both have six-speed manual transmissions. Which do you prefer, and what are your thoughts on adding aftermarket Exhausts to new cars that some may feel are too quiet? http://www.windingroad.com https://www.facebook.com/pages/Winding-Road https://www.facebook.com/WindingRoadVideo

2014 Ford F-150 Tremor - WR TV POV City Drive
Earlier this summer we got a chance to get behind the wheel of Ford's latest performance-oriented pickup, the F-150 Tremor. With the new aluminum-bodied 2015 F-150 due to land in showrooms in just a few short months, we thought we'd give this hopped-up version of the outgoing model a thorough once-over before it goes the way of the dodo. Truth be told, the F-150 Tremor is less of a bespoke performance model and more of a build sheet "best-of". It combines a regular cab, short wheelbase version of the F-150 with the potent 3.5-liter, biturbocharged EcoBoost V6 engine, which outputs 365 horsepower and 420 lb-ft of torque and, a 4.10 axle ratio for added pull off the line. Available in two or four-wheel-drive flavors, this particular Tremor sports the FX Appearance Package, which includes 20-inch black wheels black exterior accents and the Tremor Plus Package, which adds navigation, remote start, rear view camera, bed extender, and other useful bits and pieces. While a standard F-150 with the FX2 Sport package retails for $34,270, our tester clocked in at a rather lofty $42,210 all told. That got us wondering: With Ford's own F-150 SVT Raptor, and its 6.2-liter, 411 horsepower V8 few thousand dollars away at $44,995, does the Tremor shake things up enough to opt for one instead of an F-150 with the full SVT treatment? Sure, the Raptor is more off-road focused, but not so much so that it isn't still a capable performer on the pavement. http://www.windingroad.com/articles/reviews/wr-tv-2014-ford-f-150-tremor/ Visit us at http://www.windingroad.com Wear headphones! 2015 Audi S8 4.0T Quattro - WR TV POV Night Drive
This week we’re behind the wheel of the Audi’s full sized luxury sedan, the refreshed-for-2015 A8, here in performance specification as the S8. The big Audi’s Quattro all-wheel-drive system is an ideal fit for Michigan’s currently wintery weather – so much so that we really couldn’t keep ourselves out of this bruiser from Ingolstadt and decided to include a third night time drive video to see how the S8 fared in the snowy conditions with compromised visibility. The S8 is powered by a twin turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 that outputs a decidedly healthy 520 horsepower and 481 pound-feet of torque. That powerplant is hooked up to an 8-speed automatic transmission which sends the twist to all four wheels. That’s enough to get the nearly 4700-pound S8 to sixty miles per hour from a standstill in a mere 3.9 seconds on its way to an electronically limited 155 mile per hour top speed. Our tester’s 21-inch five-spoke alloys would normally be wrapped in 275/35R21 summer tires, but instead arrived with much more appropriate Dunlop SP Wintersport 3D rubber, which helped to bolster confidence behind the wheel in less-than-ideal weather. The 2015 Audi S8 starts at $114,900 with navigation, the aforementioned powertrain and various comfort and safety features like four-zone climate control and a heads up display as standard. Our tester came with a number of options including Bang and Olufsen advanced audio, a sport Exhaust system, and Audi Design interior appointments which bring the grand total to $132,225. Let’s see what that kind of coin gets you in a full-sized Audi luxury sports sedan. http://www.windingroad.com/articles/reviews/wr-tv-2015-audi-s8/ Visit us at http://www.windingroad.com and http://www.windingroadracing.com Wear headphones!
