2014 Subaru BRZ Stock Test Drive & Sound Tube Trick
Many performance cars these days are making a habit of piping extra sound into the cabin, and the Subaru BRZ is no exception. In this case, there's a sound tube that connects to the intake in the engine bay and blasts a bit of induction noise into the passenger footwell. We recently learned about a cool little trick designed into the BRZ that allows you to block this noise pipe with the 12 volt AC cover in the glovebox, and effectively turn off/on the induction noise. Here we compare the car's sound with and without the influence of the sound tube. In our opinion, the BRZ is a little bit too quiet with the sound tube blocked, but it is nice to experience the car's natural engine note.
