My first lap around the road course at LV Speedway in IS F. Neutral handling, incredible power and Brembo brakes. 8-speed direct shift auto transmission changes gears in .1sec. Even though I love manual gearbox there is no argument that for shaving the last fraction of a second from your lap time this is the way to go. Shifts are direct, immediate and smooth, no waiting. Downshifts are just as quick with the "blip" perfectly mimmicking well executed heel-and-toe. SMG and dual-clutch trans don't compare. Plus, this is a Lexus, street ride is smooth and quiet.

1950 Skoda 1102 also known as Tudor or 1101
A Czechoslovakian survivor from Canada, now in the US. Difficult to find
even in its native land. After some tweaking of the carb and brakes little
Skoda is moving under its own power. Good basis for restoration.

NASCAR Racing at Las Vegas Motor Speedway
This is a compilation video from a day of racing at Las Vegas Motor
Speedway with the Richard Petty Driving Experience. After a brief
classroom training and a van tour around the track, they strapped each
driver into a 700 horsepower NASCAR race car
and let him rip around the track solo behind a pace car instructor. I was
doing 136MPH in the turns.

Unfortunately, he was told not to do a full-speed run for fear the owners
and perspective owners riding with him may try to emulate his driving.
Glendora Mountain Road Descent - Lexus IS F
After spending some time gawking at all the cool cars on display at Cars &
Coffee in Irvine, I decided to take advantage of the warm Southern
California weather and head to the San Gabriel Mountains for a spirited
drive. At my disposal was a 2009 Lexus IS F, which is Lexus' entrée into
the high performance sedan category dominated by BMW's M3 and Audi's S4.
Motivated by a 416 horsepower aluminum 5-liter
V8 coupled to an 8-speed Direct Shift transmission, and slowed by a
Brembo-crafted braking system featuring 6-piston front calipers and
14.2-inch front rotors, the IS F certainly has impressive credentials.
As the road turned up into the mountains, it was clear that the IS F had
been developed on race tracks like the Nordschleife at the Nurburgring. The
suspension remained composed over the bumps and undulations of Glendora
Mountain Road, which due to its tight twists and turns, is enjoyable even
at a moderate pace. And the rev-matching feature of the gearbox during
downshifts added to the fun without upsetting the chassis as the road
crested the mountain and headed downhill back into the Los Angeles basin.
All in all, the IS F was an ideal companion for the trip, and I only wish
it was a permanent addition to the garage.
