426 Hemi in a '55 Chevy! Roadkill Episode 8
On this episode of Roadkill, HOT ROD's David Freiburger and Mike Finnegan hit the road on a quest to build a car they've both dreamed of for years: a '55 Chevy Bel Air sedan set up like a '60s Gasser and powered by a Mopar 426 Hemi. The guys drag out a '73 GMC Suburban that they'd never driven more than around the block (did you expect anything else?), then use it to pick up a bare '55 Chevy body in California before heading north for the 1,000-mile trip to Lincoln City, Oregon. That's the home of Jim Meyer Racing, the chassis builder that helps the guys turn the '55 into a wicked looking hot rod in a single day. There's no fail in this episode of Roadkill! Gassers At 131 Dragway In The '60s
This is an updated version of my video "Drag Racing In The '60s part 3". I made that video about three years ago and since then I have upgraded my photo and video editing software. I have been able to clean up the photos and video a bit and I added sound to the movies that I extracted from some recent video I took at the drags. I thought it would be fun to add some sound to the old 8mm movies. I also made it widescreen. The soundtrack is me jammin' on some Booker T and the MGs and CCR.

American Graffiti 55 Chevrolet Falfa's 55 THE REAL DEAL!
This is how the car looks today. This is the 55 Chevy that was used in both movies..... American Graffiti and Two Lane Blacktop. It was torn apart in the eighties and had lots of changes done by order of its new owner....... Was made to carry the whole family...... work done by Gary Charnock of Elkridge. MD..... so we know the REAL DEAL from the day it was bought to the way it looks today!! Fortunately the car retains 90% of its original parts on the car or in boxes etc...... Body, Frame, Front-End etc are original to the car as well. Restoration Talks Are Back On Again, So I Thought I'd Put This Video Back Up On Youtube for Graffiti Lovers to see. Car is owned by Denny Moran and Wayne Newsome. The car is driven, shown and raced mainly by The Wolfman Baldoni & the Astros Car Club in Baltimore. This car will still pull down a quick quarter mile times and can often be seen banging gears around town! The car Lurches Forward Franticly At Each Shift, Its WIld Looking To See It Run and Skate all over the street!!!! Hooks Up Very Well On The Track! Restoration talks are back on and plans to return the car back to its American Graffiti stature are back on the table again. KEWL!!!!
