Datsun 240Z Restoration Project
Slideshow of restoration project for a one-owner 1971 Datsun 240Z. This is
a Series 1 car with a build date of 12/70. It has a 1st-gen. BRE "Spook"
on the front, used only in 1970 competition. Light cosmetic mods, pure
450hp LS1 1978 Datsun 280Z
One of the coolest imports I've had the opportunity to see in action, this
extremely streetable 1978 Datsun 280z takes it's first trip to the drag
strip to do some testing. The car has an LS1 with heads, cam, and FAST
intake manifold putting down around 450 wheel horsepower! Best 1/8 mile
time was 7.11 for the night.
1972 Datsun 240Z run. (One last good time before I sold it)
Right before I sold it...
Clicking noise is a leak in the balancing tube (welded day after this
video) Some sloppy shifts due to slack in the rear end and un-adjusted
clutch with cracked clutch arm bracket.
I loved/love this car! So much fun to drive...
The fastet Hill Climb Car of the World
Maybe not the fastest... BUT The fastest FIAT I have ever seen :D
This Car was so damn fast, it was 8 Seconds faster than any other Car at this track!

The Air Intake looks like a Formula 1 Intake and the engine revs over
10.000rpm. Absolutly Awesome, the Cars wight was under 600KG and the Power
of the engine nearly 300Hp.
Another Great Hill Climb Racer - George Plasa - died this year, he was the
record breaker of several hill climbs in Europe. Please hold him in memory
with his great Drivingstyle and his Bmw Judd V8 Engine. (Formula 1 like

Junkyard Turbo Swap! Chevy-Powered 1971 Datsun 240Z Autocross Thrash - Roadkill Ep. 26
What do you get when you cross a rusted 1971 Datsun 240Z with a Chevy 4.3L
V6 and a turbo from a Ford Power Stroke
Diesel? The Rotsun! During Roadkill Episode 25, Freiburger and Finnegan
revived the Rotsun expecting it to dominate in the 9-car autocross showdown
of previous Roadkill project cars. It also needed to beat a 2014 Kia Rio 5,
but failed to do so with the Rotsun shamefully breaking down before
completing a decent lap. So in this episode: revenge. After swapping in the
mismatched turbo and making nearly 400
rear-wheel horsepower, the guys head to
the autocross at the Goodguys 5th Spring Nationals in Scottsdale, Arizona
and mingle with fans on their way to a rematch with that dastardly Kia.
Roadkill appears every fourth Friday on the Motor Trend channel.

Definitive Z: The Limit and Legacy of the Datsun 240Z
John Williams is as hardcore a Datsun as a they come. A relative
late-comer, he embraced the Z culture in the early 1980s. Since then he's
used his skills as a machinist, and passion as an enthusiast, to produce
his own parts for award-winning classics. Among the finest is his silver
240Z, a labor of love for a sports car that changed the West's perception
of what the Japanese could do. Three generations later, the Nissan Z
continues to define the Japan's sports car culture.
Find out why.

Nick Mann's Mannic Beattie hillclimb car
This is Nick Manns self designed and built Mannic Beattie. It is powered by
a Ford BDA engine (starts at 38.0 seconds in to the clip), driven by a turbo which is itself powered by an
auxiliary power unit (APU) which keeps the turbo spinning at full Boost all the time.
This was recorded at Shelsley Walsh in July 2005. The car is four wheel
drive, and is incredibly quick off the line, recording times of under 1.9
seconds for the uphill 64 feet marker, which is in excess of 2G off the
Nick starts the BDA at 38.0s. Then watch for Nick to raise his hand, and
then listen carefully for the APU to startup (the high pitched whine),
which is started by compressed air, and operated by the helper standing
