2013 Harley Iron 883 Test Ride! | TestRides
I've been looking at, and thinking about, the Harley Iron 883 for some time
now. I've thought they were cool since they came out in 2009. After buying
a used XL1200L Sportster last year, it's really got me thinking about the
Iron again. Went up to Northwest Harley-Davidson in Lacy, Wa. yesterday
just to look, and was talked into taking one for a test ride. Well I almost
rode her home, but couldn't quite get to terms with the price. So I came
home to think this over before jumping right in and taking it...
I love the idea of this small, simple, rough & tough little bike. Very drab
looking, so it doesn't scream "Look at me!" or "Watch how fast I can go!"
It reminds me of the UJM's of the '70's & '80's. Love this bike... I will
absolutely get one of these Iron 883's!
As for the test ride, it was awesome! I really thought it was going to feel
under powered, but that was not the case at all. Even though I was given
very strict restrictions on how to treat the new motor, she performed very
well within those parameters. I still can't believe they have test rides
like this for customers - how cool!
