Mean Gene Cook turbo street VW wheelie and outta the groove! Farmington NC, OCT.19, 2008
First pass is qualifying against Troy Sellars, and I get a nasty wheelie goin. Second pass is the Unlimited Street East final with me against "Jersey Joe" Koenig. My car pulled hard right, got outta the groove and it was hang-on time after that! Allan Fore went head on into the wall right in front of me, so I was a little worried about the cold track. Luckily I was able to stay outta the wall! I ended the day as runner up, but we were number 1 qualifier et and mph! Hyper Bug 1641cc turbo/nitrous VW Beetle Drag Car
Shot this video this weekend at Farmington, NC. The Hyper Bug has been
around for A LONG time, but this was the first time I have seen it with
this engine - 1641cc, no frills turbo
with Nitrous. I didn't expect much...boy
I was wrong. The car actually went much quicker than this run, but I missed
the first pass because I just didn't realize what I was about to witness!
First drive on car and engine...
After firing the engine, we took the car for a very short drive. This is
video of the first trip on car and engine. Would've been longer, but the
roads here are still covered with calcium, yuck. Created by Cooker's
