Motor was completely built by TA Performance in Scottsdale, AZ. Car runs on premium pump gas or aviation 110. Motor is a 73' Buick 455 bored .030 over to a 462 with forged pistons 9.84:1 compression, TA Hemi-Killer Camshaft, TA HD rocker assembly, TA Double Row Timing Chain, TA Timing Cover, TA Water Pump, Aluminum Radiator, TA Aluminum Stage 1 Heads, TA Valve Covers, Hooker Full Length Headers, Magnaflow 3" stainless crossover Exhaust, 12 bolt posi, 4 Wheel Disc Brakes, 9" Brake Booster, TA Hi-Perf. Starter, TA Billet Aluminum Flywheel, TA Street/Strip Mechanical Fuel Pump, Borg Warner T-10 4-Speed Transmission with 904 Cast Iron Case(split the old aluminum case with 1st gear explosion), Driveshaft Loop, Hurst Shifter, Centerforce dual friction clutch, Edelbrock 850cfm Carb, Edelbrock performer intake, MSD Distributor, Accel Coil, tires were BF Goodrich radial T/A. Motor was featured on the rear cover of TA Performance 2010 Catalog.
1972 Buick Skylark ride
This is a video of my late brother Andrew and his 1972 Buick Skylark. Andrew was undergoing chemo at the time this video was shot so it was one of his last rides in the car. He had the car for 20 years and performed all sorts of modifications on it such as rebuilding the engine, converting the car to a five speed manual and toughening up the suspension. The car is a Buick 350, 4 bbl and five speed. Andrew passed away on December 31st, 2006. The music is from King Crimson.

1972 Buick Skylark with a Hi-Compression Buick 350-4
I've had this car since October 8th 2010, I'm a senior in High School and it is my first car, my dad payed for half of it and I payed for the other half. I pay for the performance goodies that go into it and the occasional parts that break too. I love driving this old monster even though premium gas prices are outrageous but the rumble and roar of that massive V8 are well worth it. I take pride in this car and my dad and I do most of the work on it ourselves, it's somewhat of a father-son project. We've done nothing but make this car a heck of a lot better than it was when we got it. In the great words of GS Club of America, going fast with class, that's what these Buicks do.
Detials:
Stock HP: 175hp (for 1972 Buick 350-4 8.5:1 compression)
Rear-wheel HP: 226hp @ 4326 RPM (should be a little higher with the Hyfire and Mallory coil)
Rear-wheel Tourqe: 307.8 lb-ft @ 3372 RPM (should also be a little higher)
Net HP: approx. 260hp
Compression: 9.5:1 (not sure, but definitely higher than stock because without prem fuel I get spark knock with the correct fuel to air mixture)
Rear-end gears: 2.73:1 Open Differential (plan on getting a Limited Slip one)
Transmission: turbohydramatic 350 (with a shift kit for fun :D)

After a 6 month winter hiatus, the Buick breathes again. Small oil leak over the winter which is to be expected, other than that, an oil change and some fresh gas she fired right up.

Great day of Buick Racing. My very first time racing ever! My best was 13.82 @ 97 mph!
1972 Buick Skylark, TA 288-92H cam.
This is the TA 288-92H cam. Bought cam and lifters used from a reputable source(Jim Weise who is a knowledgeable Buick guru, Hi Jim). TA SP1 intake, 800 QJ carb, Roller rockers, Headers and big 3" pipes all the way to the bumper. This video shows the motor as it looks today and it is different from the original video. The intake is the only visible part changed but the valve covers have been painted Buick red to match the rest of the motor. I like them better red than black as they were. Did the additional motor work earlier in the year but am just now getting around to a new video.
Motor is probably 9:00 to 1 or so comp ratio(cast hyperutectic pistons)as both the block and heads have been milled a total of about .060" and has homebrewed port and bowl work along with stainless stage1 size valves.
Recorded 12/13/09 Best heard with headphones. Oh yeah it's in stereo babee!
