So here it is, I made an announcement on my Facebook page for this beast!
The all new 2012 Porsche 991 Carrera S Cabriolet! The real revelation of
this car was at March 3, at the Geneva motorshow! But there wasn't any
video with the sound this clear. In this video you'll see the 991 doing
some ridiculous accelerations, flybys and downshifts! Also the revving is
pretty awesome with the switching between Sport mode on, and off. I hope
you like the video just as much as I enjoyed recording it!
What do you think about the 991? Share it, and comment below! Like the
video if you do! And if you like this video, be sure you take a look at my

2012 Porsche 911 Cabriolet 991 review
Porsche introduces a larger, lighter and more powerful 911.This cabriolet
is fitted with the new 3.4L base motor and 7-speed manual transmission. It
is a great machine but not without fault.
2013 Porsche 911 Carrera S Cabriolet Test Drive & Convertible Sports Car Video Review
http://www.autobytel.com/porsche/911/2013/ The 4th generation Porsche 911
is lighter, faster, and better
looking than the previous model. The heritage of this car dates way back to
the early 1960's and over the years the 911 has been at the top of the
sports car mountain. This 2013 model still retains the same shape but is
much more sinister. There are 10 different trims that include: turbocharged versions, coupes, and cabriolets
(convertibles). The base price on the 2013 Porsche Carrera S Cabriolet
tested here is $108,000.
The engine on the 2013 Porsche 911 Carrera S is a 3.8 liter horizontally
opposed 6-cylinder that makes 400 horsepower and 325 lb-ft. of
torque. 0-60 MPH times are in the mid 4-second range. Fuel economy is 19
MPG in the city and 27 MPG on the highway. The transmission options are a
7-speed PDK automatic or the only 7-speed manual in the world. The manual
is not as quick as the PDK but is more fun and engaging.
With every convertible the challenge is to keep the same overall shape the
same as the coupe counterpart. Porsche has done a great job and the 2013
911 Carrera S Convertible has a few new features including an integrated
wind screen and a 3-panel magnesium roof that can open or close within 13
seconds and can be operated at speeds up to 30 MPH. Porsche employ a soft
top rather than a hard top for both weight savings and look. The company
has addressed the traditional problems associated with a soft top such as
sound and thermal insulation which have been a real problem in the past.
Now the top on the 2013 Porsche 911 Cabriolet is an extremely hi-tech piece
the remains stable at high speeds while doing a good job at keeping out
There are plenty of cars to choose from in the convertible sports car
category including the: Mercedes SL-Class, Audi R8 Spyder, Aton Martin
Vantage, or the Maserati Gran Turismo. But none of these competing cars are
as light nor do they have the 40 years of heritage that the 2013 Porsche
911 Carrera S Cabriolet has. This car is a true sports car and is the best
of both worlds.

As most of you know the Porsche 911 is my favourite car. In this review of
the 2012 / 2013 Carrera S Convertible, I explore the differences between
this 991 and the old 997 and answer the question if this car is worth the
money over the new stunning Boxster S 981, that I tested in May ...

2012 Porsche 911 Carrera S Test Drive & Sports Car Video Review
http://www.autobytel.com/porsche/911/2012/ The Porsche 911 recently got a
thorough refresh for the 2012 model year. This is the 7th generation of 911
to hit the American car market. Since the 1960's Porsche has been known to
produce some of the fastest sports cars the world over. But in recent years
the Porsche brand as combined high end luxury with their 911 sports car.
There are literally 18 different models of the Porsche 911 for the 2012
model year with the base price Carrera costing $79,000 and the top of the
line turbo S with the PDK transmission
costing $172,100. But the model reviewed here costs about $105,000.
The 2012 Porsche 911 Carrera S is powered by a 3.8 liter 6-cylinder engine
that produces 400 horsepower and 325 lb-ft. of
torque. There are 2 different transmission choices available; the first is
a 7-speed manual gearbox that features a long ration 7th gear to help aid
in fuel economy, and the second transmission is a 7-speed PDK is a
double-clutch gearbox that can change gears within milliseconds. Fuel
economy is 22 MPG in the city and 26 MPG on the highway. The 2012 Porsche
911 Carrera has some great fuel saving technologies. First with the PDK
transmission, the 911 has what is called coating mode which essentially
drops the RPMs to less than 1k so that the car uses less fuel. There is a
start-stop system which shuts the engine off while stopped. This technology
is commonly found on hybrid vehicles.
For this new refresh Porsche made many styling changes. But you can rest
easy know the same basic body style that has remained over the past couple
of decades is still quite evident. This 7th generation Porsche 911 Carrera
is a bit wider with the wheel base getting stretched by 4 inches. With
those new dimensions, the 2012 Porsche 911 now has a much better ride. At
the rear of the car are newly designed taillights featuring LED lights.
As mentioned earlier, the new direction Porsche is taking is to integrate
the best luxury amenities and materials as possible into their sports cars.
The 911 is no exception as it benefits from great 18-way adjustable seats,
an Alcantara headliner, as well as premium materials covering most surfaces
in the cabin. Safety wise the Porsche 911 has a handful of front and side
impact airbags that feature a two-stage impact system. The bags partially
inflate in minor accidents and fully inflate for serious accidents thereby
minimizing discomfort for the passengers in slower fender benders.
The 2012 Porsche 911 Carrera S is a luxurious sports car that can
accelerate from 0-60 MPH in the low 4-seconds range. The 911 has all the
creature comforts and technological gadgets you could ever want. And to top
it all off this is one great looking sports car.
