1983 chevy el camino ly6 ls1 swap/ conversion
startup of my 1983 chevy el camino after swapping in a 6.0l vortec engine.
This is just a progress video. The vehicle is far from done. The car has a
built 350C transmission. The engine and the rest of the car is stock. I
wish i was able to close the stock hood, but the way that I mounted the
engine necessitates a cowl hood.
1971 Chevy El Camino
Here's an exceptional El Camino with the right stuff! It's powered by a 350
V8 and a turbo 350 automatic
transmission. The engine has an Edelbrock intake manifold and a perfectly
tuned Quadrajet carburetor, headers to Flowmaster Exhaust, power steering, power disc brakes, and
a new chrome air cleaner assembly. Inside you'll find a freshly
upholstered bench seat, clean carpet, and sanitary conditions overall. It
also has a tach and gauges, tilt steering column, an Alpine CD/HD radio,
and custom kick panels to accommodate the speaker upgrades! Out back you'll
find a spray in bed liner to protect it from the elements and anything you
are carrying. The car sits on brand new Riddler 18 inch wheels and new
tires, and has a gigantic front sway bar to help with cornering. This El
Camino sits right, has a new cowl hood, and is a desirable lipstick red! It
runs, drives, and stops VERY well! This would make an incredibly reliable,
daily drivable, muscle car!
Chevy 6.0 LS Transplanted Into A 2001 GMC 3500HD !
This swap was done using a 6.0 LS engine from a Denali, a Current
Performance wiring harness and most of the original Silverado truck engine
compartment components like the radiator, radiator hoses, heater hoses and
cooling fans. We didn't touch on it in the video, but the engine was
converted to a single line fuel rail with no return line. This was done by
using an inline fuel filter from a Corvette which has an internal pressure
regulator and a return line going from the filter back to the fuel tank.

1970 Chevrolet El Camino
Chevrolet El Camino was a coupe utility vehicle produced by the Chevrolet
division of General Motors between 1959 and 1987. Introduced in the
1959--1960 model years in response to the success of the Ford Ranchero, its
first run lasted only one year. Production resumed for the 1964--1977 model
years based on the Chevelle platform, and continued for the 1978--1987
model years based on the Malibu. Although based on corresponding Chevrolet
car lines, the vehicle is classified and titled in North America as a
truck. GMC's badge engineered El Camino variant, the Sprint, was introduced
for the 1971 model year. Renamed Caballero in 1978, it was also produced
through the 1987 model year.
In Spanish, El Camino means "the road".

Removing my Chevy 350 motor and tranny from my '72 El Camino
Yanking out my 350/th350 from my '72 El Camino. Everything was prepped
before hand - radiator pulled out, headers/spark plugs removed, power
steering unbolted and bungeed, ignition taken out, motor mount bolts
removed, driveshaft taken out, crossmember removed, tranny jacked and
prepped. This is the end product of the heart transplant. A 454/th400 will
be soon be installed and roaring.
How To LSx Motor Mount Adapter Swap Plates (One Inch Set-Back Plates)
This video shows how LSx motor mount swap adapter plates look like and how
they are used. It is common for these to be installed backwards and then
the engine will be way too far forward in the engine bay. I hope that this
video will help cut out some of the confusion for future swappers.
These mounts where purchased on eBay for about $45.
