2012 BMW 5-Series Road Test & Car Review The 2012 BMW 5-Series resides in one of the most competitive automotive segments: the mid-sized luxury car class. But the good news is BMW continues to be a leader year in and year out and the 2012 BMW 5-Series is no exception. The 535 has a base price of $52,250 and comes with a turbocharged 3-Liter 6-cylinder engine that puts out 300 horsepower and 300 lb-ft. of torque. Fuel economy is great at 21 MPG in the city and 30 MPG on the highway. The top of the line 550 model has a base price of $61,700 and comes packing a 400 horsepower V-8 engine. The addition of an 8-speed automatic transmission allows the 2012 BMW 550 to get 15 MPG in the city and 22 MPG on the highway. One really cool feature on the 2012 BMW 5-Series is the heads-up display. This great piece of technology can show your current speed, driving directions, and it also acts in conjunction with the many safety systems on the 5-Series. The 5-Series comes in many different forms and trim levels. But you can expect the same great BMW heritage in the 2012 BMW 5-Series Luxury Sedan. See More Car Videos Join Our Facebook Page

BMW 5 Series review - What Car?
With the right options, the BMW 5 Series strikes just the right balance between comfort, refinement and dynamic excellence. But, if you don't add the right options, the 5 Series is disappointing to drive. Those extras aren't cheap, either. Overall, it's a classy, spacious and refined executive saloon with low running costs and excellent engines. It's just a pity you need to add options to make the BMW 5 Series drive well. Let us know what you think of the BMW 5 Series in the comments section below. Read the full review here: New videos are uploaded to What Car? each week. Don't miss a single one.
