Audi R8 coupe 2013 review - CarBuyer
Audi R8 2014 full review: http://bit.ly/zeREJZ Subscribe to the Carbuyer YouTube channel: http://bit.ly/17k4fct Subscribe to Auto Express: http://subscribe.autoexpress.co.uk/cb Audi shocked the industry when it introduced its stunning R8 supercar in 2006. It was the German company's first demonstration of how it could compete with the established supercar giants with only a little help from Lamborghini -- a sub-brand of the VW Group. As a result, the Audi R8 shares some DNA with the Lamborghini Gallardo, but is far cheaper to buy and easier to drive, without losing any sense of occasion or its head turning looks. A supercar that you really can use everyday, the R8 may not be particularly practical, but it's genuinely comfortable and comes keenly priced if you avoid the extensive options list. That said, a host of updates at the start of 2013 improved equipment, with all cars getting LED headlights, sat-nav and heated leather seats as standard. There is a choice of V8 and V10, with a faster V10 Plus model for those craving a little more power and an even sportier drive. Mat: When Audi introduced the R8 in 2008 they proved to the world they could make a supercar that can compete with the Ferrari and Lamborghini. Yet because it's an Audi it's almost as easy to live with as an A3! But now to keep the R8 feeling fresh Audi has just updated it with some design tweaks. There's restyled nose with all LED lamps while the back features new Exhaust surrounds and the coolest indicators in the world. Audi has also added a new model to the range. It's called the V10 Plus and gets a more aggressive chassis set up, a 25bhp power upgrade over the normal V10, ceramic brakes and plenty of carbon fiber. It even has more carbon fiber inside such has here on the dash and gets bucket seats as standard. However, Audi has upped the equipment list on the other models too. The normal V10 now gets extended leather while all versions now come with sat-nav, iPod connectivity, heated seats and mobile phone preparation standard. The R8 has the classic mid-engined super car set up. You can go for a 4.2-litre V8 version with 424hp, which can 0-62mph in around four and a half seconds. But while that's easily fast enough you don't want that one because that engine is also available in an A4 Estate car. What you want is the V10 because not only does it have over 500bhp the engine comes from a Lamborghini Gallardo and it makes the R8 not only feel and sound like a true supercar. If there was one problem with the old R8 it was that it's auto box was a bit rubbish. But I have some good news. Audi has given the R8 a new dual clutch seven speed automatic gearbox which is brilliant. It's so good I'd recommend it over the manual. In auto mode it's smooth enough for pottering round town and if you want to change gears yourself using the paddles the car will swap cogs faster than you can blink. There's another benefit to the automatic model. It includes launch control and when engaged the 543bhp V10 Plus can sprint from 0-62mph in just 3.5 seconds. Okay to operate it I put my foot on the brake, select sport mode for the gearbox and the stability control, floor the throttle then release the brake.... And that's 60 I better back off, I don't want to brake the law. We don't do that here at CarBuyer. To be fair it's quite easy to find yourself above the speed limit in the R8 is so easy to drive fast. The all wheel drive system provides oodles of grip, the steering is sharp and unless you have a spirit level you won't notice any lean through corners. This is a super car which will flatter the novice with it's balance and stability yet it's capability and rear-drive bias means it will entertain the expert too. On top of all this the R8 is very comfy for a supercar, especially if you go for the magnetic ride adaptable suspension which is standard on the V10. Unfortunately this V10 plus doesn't have them. Instead it gets bespoke lowered stiffer fixed spring suspension. And while this, revised steering and the carbon ceramic brakes make it even better to drive on track they don't make it better to drive on the road, which if you are honest is where you'll be driving your R8 most of the time.... As for other problems, the cabin may be well built, however the design is starting to look a little dated, especially the infotainment system which doesn't even come with digital radio. And seeing as this is a CarBuyer review we need to talk about practicality. Yes it's supercar so it's never going to be very good but R8's meagre storage makes even a Porsche 911 seem like family friendly transport. Finally there's the high running costs and the price, but actually compared to other supercars this Audi is incredible value. And really there are few cars even at twice the price, which can turn heads like the R8 especially this V10 Plus in matte blue paint. Job done.

Mercedes M-Class SUV review - CarBuyer
Mercedes M-Class SUV 2014 review: http://bit.ly/19X3Fod Subscribe to the Carbuyer YouTube channel: http://bit.ly/17k4fct Subscribe to Auto Express: http://subscribe.autoexpress.co.uk/cb The latest generation of the Mercedes M-Class was introduced in late 2011 as Mercedes lifted its game against rivals that have emerged in the decade since it spawned this segment: the Audi Q7, Porsche Cayenne and BMW X5. The M-Class is nearly four-metres long and has a massive load area, regardless of which of model you choose. The ML 250 starts the range with a 202bhp 2.1-litre four-cylinder turbodiesel, then there's the volume-selling ML 350 with its 255bhp V6 turbodiesel. If it's power you're after rather than efficiency, there's the ML 63 AMG complete with 518bhp 5.5-litre twin turbo V8 -- the most powerful Mercedes 4x4 ever sold. All offer luxurious equipment levels, fit and finish as well as an imposing road presence.

2012 Audi A8-L Test Drive & Car Review
http://www.autobytel.com/audi/a8/?id=32972 The 2012 Audi A8 is a perfect example of what a full sized luxury sedan should be. On the outside the Audi A8 is beautiful from the grill all the way to the taillights, under the hood lies a powerful V-8 engine, and inside the driver and passengers are treated to an ultra luxurious experience. But owning a high end luxury car does not come cheap. The base model (normal wheelbase) has an MSRP of $78,750, while the Long Wheelbase version tested here starts at $84,700. But the ultimate 2012 Audi A8 is the Long Wheelbase edition with the W12 engine which starts at $133,500. The 2012 Audi A8-L is powered by a 4.2 liter V-8 engine that produces 372 horsepower and 328 lb-ft. of torque. While not the most powerful car in the full sized luxury segment; the engine in combination with an 8-speed automatic transmission does a great job of putting the power down to the ground through standard Quattro all-wheel drive. The 2012 Audi A8-L can accelerate from 0-60 MPH in 5.8 seconds. Fuel economy is excellent with the A8 netting 18 MPG in the city and 28 MPG on the highway. The engine is exposed which is great and there are wonderfully contrasting colors in the engine bay that really grab your attention. On the outside the 2012 Audi A8 is a very stylish car which is sure to get you noticed. The massive chrome grill looks great and really stands out. The Xenon headlights combined with the world famous LED running lights are signature Audi. The A8 also has a set of huge 19-inch alloy wheels at all four corners. On the inside the Audi A8 is plenty spacious with enough room for 4 adults and all their belongings. The A8-L is the long wheelbase version and this platform stretches the amount of interior room a couple more inches. The interior of the car makes you feel like you are in a luxurious living room. Everything is beautiful and Audi did a great job of finding the perfect balance between woods and metals that make up the trim pieces. All the buttons and controls are top notch since Audi understands what a luxury buyer demands. The A8-L is a real driver's car; it is response and fun to drive. The 2012 Audi A8 is a true joy to drive. It you are going to spend $80k on a high end luxury car then you owe it to yourself to take a long test drive. When shopping for a full sized luxury automobile make a checklist and compare the various cars in the segment. Audi has really captured the essence of what a luxury car should be with the 2012 Audi A8-L. 2011 Jaguar XJ L--Video Test Drive with Chris Moran from Chicago Motor Cars
http://www.SupercarNetwork.com The incredible new Jaguar XJ, in long-wheelbase L model form. A new standard in supreme luxury. Presented by Chris Moran from Chicago Motor Cars Above all things, Jaguar desires to be different. That's why the new 2011 XJ flagship has the flamboyant lines of an Italian torpedo and the driving manners of a German autobahn cruiser and is tuned for Buckingham Palace fleet duty. Cultures collide in spectacular ways in this luxury limo. The XJ is a cab-rearward design and is incredibly riveting to stare at as it sits back on its haunches with as much cool as James Bond lighting a Chesterfield. In black, with the big-dish 20-inch wheels, the car is sinister enough to warrant its own RICO investigation. Jaguar Cars managing director Mike O'Driscoll, who's peddled more than his share of schlock over a 35-year career with the company, is smiling more lately. He says the mission was to recapture the uniqueness of the original 1968 XJ but in a modern form. They looked at the class stalwarts—the Mercedes-Benz S-class, the BMW 7-series, and the Audi A8—and the more driver-oriented oddballs, including the Maserati Quattroporte and Porsche Panamera, and decided to shoot for a middle ground. Passion—but with typical British reserve. If you focus on those front three-quarter shots, you'll wrongly dismiss the 2011 XJ as just an XF with a pituitary run amok. Skip down to the side and rear profiles to capture the XJ's more exotic stance. The beltline is pulled way up, the side glass is pinched narrow, and the flowing taffy stretch of aluminum sheetmetal ends in a high, short trunk. The C-pillars are clad in wonky glossy black panels that bridge the side glass with the backlight. Styling head Ian Callum—who gave us all of our current Jaguars and a few Aston Martins—demanded it and got his way. You don't hear odes to the Jensen Interceptor very often, but Callum is fascinated with the way that car's rear glass wrapped around the body sides to isolate the roof. He wanted to create an unbroken black band around the car's cranium, like the Lone Ranger's mask. On lighter colors the effect is more pronounced—and a little forced, frankly—but it's definitely not something Jaguar's competitors would ever do. On sale now, this XJ arrives stateside with two wheelbases and three engines, the latter shared with the smaller XF. The base short XJ with a direct-injection 385-hp, 5.0-liter V-8 starts at $72,500. The XJ Supercharged uses forced air to attain 470 hp and costs an additional $15,000. Both engines are also available in a size-XL (extra long) version that pulls the wheelbase out another 4.9 inches. The base XJL starts at $79,500 and is expected to be the volume player in the U.S., with about half the sales. The XJL Supercharged is $90,500. Finally, by special order only, there's the XJ Supersport with 510 hp, thanks to revised engine maps similar to those of the XFR. Price: $112,000 in short form, $115,000 with the stretch. Europe also gets a tugboat-ready 3.0-liter turbo-diesel from Peugeot that is unfortunately considered a bit too, uh, European for America. Lately, the market's air has been pretty thin at the XJ's price point—the company sold just 1161 of the big cats in the U.S. last year, 2452 in 2008—so you can't blame Jaguar for leaning on existing components where possible. Unexpectedly, it's the Jaguar XFR that donates the most gear, including its suspension, steering rack, and, in the Supersports, the active electronic differential with few modifications. The riveted and glue-bonded aluminum unibody shares DNA with the previous XJ, but thanks to a learning curve and a change in priorities, there are substantial changes. Besides the graceful sheetmetal, there are more cast nodes in the new XJ's skeleton, helping to drive up torsional rigidity by a claimed 11 percent, and the front subframe is now solidly mounted. In the past, Jaguar used rubber isolation bushings, something it found only negatively affected handling while supplying little isolation benefit. 2014 Bentley Flying Spur vs 2014 Rolls-Royce Ghost! - Head 2 Head Ep. 47
On this episode of Head 2 Head, Kim Reynolds re-enacts the Battle of Britain by pitting the Union Jack's two great luxury names again each other — Bentley versus Rolls-Royce. However, these two require testing that's elevated above the routine, so we've devised as few, ah, unorthodox challenges. With almost 1200-hp, twenty-four cylinders, and four turbochargers between them, the Flying Spur and Ghost can both paint tire streaks on the dragstrip. But can they paint with acrylics on canvas as well? We'll find out. And which car can turn more heads in ritzy Santa Monica? We aimed video cameras at the sidewalks and counted the eyeballs. All that, and the answer to which car has a $40,000 paint job, is just a click away! 2011 Jaguar XJL/XJL Supercharged Start Up, Exhaust, and In Depth Tour/Review
I also have a brief start up and Exhaust clip at the end of this video of the 2011 XJL Supercharged! I chose to do the video on this caviar/truffle/ivory color combo because I thought it really accentuated the design and style of this all new interior, which in my opinion is breath taking. Fantastic craftsmanship and comfort and all the features one could ever want, all wrapped up in a new body that's long, sleek yet dominating and soft at the same time. I trust you all will be just as impressed with the newest generation of the XJ line as I was! In this video I give a full in depth tour of the all new 2011 Jaguar XJL + brief comparison of the XJL Supercharged. I take viewers on a close look through the interior and exterior of this car while showing details, over viewing of features, and noting unique styling cues to the vehicle itself. I also show the engine and the details of it, start it up and see how it sounds under acceleration. A thorough tour/review of this car designed to give others a greater overall appreciation of the vehicle.
