Watch Now | 2018 Ford Taurus Preview, Pricing, Release Date
2018 Ford Taurus Preview, Pricing, Release Date Despite its old-school looks, dimensions, and feel, we expect the Ford Taurus to head into the 2018 model year as a carryover. This will make two straight years that the Taurus will see zero changes. As a carryover model, we anticipate not a single change to the looks of the 2018 Taurus. It will continue on with its classic proportions, spacey interior, and massive 20.1-cubic-foot trunk. With no changes in appearance, we also expect not a single change to its standard features list. Given this proves true, we expect the Taurus to continue with its standard 18-inch alloy wheels, automatic headlights, LED taillights, keyless exterior touchpad, six-way power front seats, Sync voice controls, Bluetooth connectivity, a 4.2-inch display screen, and a six-speaker audio system. We expect no changes in the Taurus’ powertrain department. The base model will continue with a 3.5-liter that will produce 288 horsepower and 254 pound-feet of torque. Optionally, buyers can add a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder that injects 240 hp and 270 lb-ft of torque into front-wheel-drive-equipped Taurus sedans. Topping the range, we expect to see the all-wheel-drive SHO model arrive with a twin-turbo 3.5-liter V6 that will produce 365 hp and 350 lb-ft of torque. Though it lacks the small-overlap test -- the Taurus has decent safety ratings in the four categories the IIHS tested it in. It also lacks in the forward collision mitigation test due to it not having automatic emergency braking -- its most advanced system only pre-charges the brakes when it senses a crash is coming. With no changes in the works, these ratings should remain the same. source : http://www.carsdirect.com/2018/ford/taurus

2013 Ford Taurus SHO Road Test
https://www.instagram.com/_autoedit_/ Can you drift a 2013 Ford Taurus SHO like Nascar racer Carl Edwards does in the commercial? I tried and couldn't. This press car didn't have the ESC button in the center console to disable the stability management system so try as I might, the car would never get sideways. I did however find out how great this car is at being a world class sedan. Around town and in the canyons, this 4400 pound vehicle feels flat out nimble. It's also pretty fast, 0-60 in 5.2 seconds will get your attention and the immensely capable all wheel drive system, huge brakes and fantastic suspension will keep it. I'll go on record for loving the eco-Boost engine platform. The 3.5L Twin turbo V6 is only mildly laggy at the low end but more than makes up for that once it starts to rev. The practical side is that you could use all 365 horsepower in this car and still manage fuel mileage in the mid 20's and then on the highway settle in at about 30 MPG. Would I own one, heck yes...as long as it had that ESC button in the center console to disable the stability management systems so that I could four wheel drift the tires off the thing.
