USAC/CRA 410 Sprint Car Wheelie Contest at Santa Maria Speedway, August, 2012!!!
Watch in HD!!!
Once again at Santa Maria Speedway, the sprint car wheelie contest was held
at this famed track. This time though, the USAC/CRA 410 Wingless Sprint
Cars were the contestants for the $1000 grand prize. This contest though
only had two brave souls that came out and raced for the prize: Las Vegas
Nevada's own Seth Wilson and the USAC/CRA defending champ Mike Spencer from
Temecula, CA. Unfortunately for this year, the wheelies where very tough
as you will see. Mike Spencer even did some free style driving through the
infield and around the mini oval to earn some more points from the judges
(this year, it was some of the photographers in the infield [Steve, Mark &
Kori]). In the end, the #1X of Seth Wilson took home the $1000 prize by
beating the #50 of Mike Spencer by a score of 22.5 to 13 out of 30. Seth
Wilson also hurt some parts after his run near the left front of his car.

Baughman Plans to Park Sprint Car After Dust Up with Herrera at Texas
by Inside Line Promotions
FORT WORTH, Texas | Sept. 25, 2013 -- Josh Baughman has made a decision to
park his sprint car after a wild night last Saturday at Texas Motor
Baughman and Johnny Herrera collided on the opening lap of their Lucas Oil
ASCS National Tour heat race at the Port-a-Cool U.S. Dirt Track
Championship. The contact damaged the steering on Baughman's car and he
held on to finish eighth.
After the heat race the drivers pulled into the infield and Baughman said
he went to nudge Herrera's car from behind only to have both cars lock
together when Baughman said Herrera slammed on the brakes.
"When I did it he completely locked the car up," Baughman said. "When it
did it killed the car and it escalated from there. My intention wasn't to
stop and fight Johnny Herrera. He came over and shoved me."
The duo had a short-term fight in the infield and Baughman was disqualified
from the event, forcing him to leave the facility.
"Should I have been the only one penalized? I don't think so," he said. "If
the pages were turned and I hopped out of my car and ran over to him I
would have been penalized. I don't take anything away from Johnny. I've
watched him do the same thing earlier in the year and nothing happened to
"I don't go to the races to fight. With nothing being done on the series'
end it's just going to continue. I'm parking my stuff for the rest of this
Baughman said he might compete in a few non-ASCS sprint car races in the
final months of this season and he plans on driving one of Andrew Felker's
midgets at the Chili Bowl Nationals next January.
"Before Saturday night happened I was gearing up to run the whole national
tour next year," Baughman said. "I'm not going to do anything with the way
it is now. I race to have fun."
