How to read and reset error codes using the OBD-1 port Volvo 850 - Auto Repair Series

If you have a 1993, 1994, or 1995 Volvo 850, the car has a built in OBD-1
code reading system under the hood just behind the passenger side head
light. You can read and reset error codes, many of which do NOT set off the

Volvo 850 Wagon -vs- 69 Camero

This is my 94 Volvo 850 turbo that I
worked on all summer with my friend. This is just a little montage of some
of the things we did to it. Some of the things is a short ram air intake
with K&N air filter, Boost gauge,
850 R Ecu, custom Exhaust, no
catalytic converter, HKS Carbon Ti Muffler, OBX Strut bar, new rims and
tires, new windshield, blacked out tails, custom grille I made, black euro

Volvo 850, S70 Automatic Transmission Fluid Change / Service - Auto Repair Series
Transmission drain and refill: 30 to 60 minutes x3.
This video shows how I service my 1995 Volvo 850 turbo model automatic transmission. This process
will likely work on all of the 850's and some of the S70 and V70's. Make
sure you check your owners manual for the fluid type and when you drain the
transmission, measure the amount and add back that amount (just in case
your transmission fluid capacity is a little different than mine).
This system has no filter from the factory.

This is an idea I've had since I was a kid, and after watching Mike Cberts
Diesel mini bike video I was inspired to put together my own! The frame
has been around since I was 4 years old! At that point it was powered by a
3 hp Briggs and Stratton and is a Fox corporation, Trail Bug probably from
the 60's or early 70's. The engine is a copy of a 10 hp Yanmar single
cylinder Diesel engine and the turbo is
similar to the one on my Honda CX-500 turbo motorcycle. The engine runs at 3,600 rpm
max and top speed so far is 39.3 mph.

Heater Core Replacement, Volvo S70, V70, XC70, 850 - Auto Repair Series
Heater Core Replacement: 1 to 2 hours.
If you smell coolant or other sweet odor when you turn the heat on, there
is a good chance that your heater core has started to leak. If your windows
fog along with the odor, you need to replace the core immediately.
I replaced a heater core in this Volvo S70. The process is just about the
same for the Volvo 850 except for process of removing the lower dash
panels. A little easier on the 850.
I suggest that you drain the radiator before doing this task. It will help
you loose less coolant inside the cabin.
