The Basic Parts of an Automatic Transmission (Part 1)

In this video I cover the operation of clutches, bands, accumulators, clutch drums, the oil pump, the valve body, valves, check balls, seals and 'o' rings, as well as the construction and function of many of the internal hard parts of an automatic transmission. To be honest a rear wheel drive transmission isn't much different as many of the basic components are the same. I guess what I'm saying is that you could use the information in this video to have a basic understanding of a rear wheel drive automatic transmission also. It is just a basic overview of the main components. I don't get into theory and operation so much. Just the general operation and identification of the parts. I may make more videos on this topic based on the comments I get so feel free to ask questions and perhaps I'll answer them in a future video on this topic. ► Audi's automatic driving for parking
Audi's automatic parking systems operate by means of either ultrasound or cameras, which display images via the onboard monitor. One particularly convenient solution is park assist. When backing into a parking space, it performs all the necessary steering movements; it can handle both parallel parking and parking perpendicular to the street. The system finds a parking space with ultrasound sensors that scan the roadside in two dimensions while driving at moderate speed. The system notifies the driver via a message in the display once the sensors have found a space which is large enough. If the driver wishes to park in the space, he or she shifts into reverse and the park assist system takes over the steering. The driver must accelerate, shift gears, and brake. When parallel parking, the detected space is large enough if it is about 80 centimeters (2.62 ft) longer than the vehicle itself. Park assist can perform multi-point parking maneuvers and also offers support in leaving parallel parking spaces. Another technology from Audi is the parking system plus with surround view cameras. Four small cameras -- in the single-frame grille, at the rear and in the side mirror housings -- record the vehicle's immediate surroundings. The driver can call up a variety of views on the large onboard monitor, including a top-down virtual view. THR 347 Mustang Coupe 10 sec ALL Motor N/A Solid Roller 8,000 RPM Street Race Car
Hey Guys...I finally got a copy of some passes of the killer THR Black Coupe at the track. I'm sorry for the quality of the vids as they were from a client that was nice enough to share them on a DVD he made. (I was driving so I did't get to video). Hope you enjoy as we've had alot of people asking to see the 10 sec passes to back up the claims. Well here she is! This is a 92 LX Coupe with a Custom THR 347 stroker capable of 8,000 RPM making it's first couple passes at the local track. It's an all motor or (N/A) car, NO Nitrous NO Boost NO POWER ADDED. JUST ALL MOTOR. Keep in mind this is at our elevation of 4200 ft (DA of 6500 ft). This race was a grudge match against a turbo & Nitrous Import that runs low 10's. We had to cut a light to keep him staring at the Tailights!! Check out our other passes to see the rest of the grudge races! Props to an Import for trying to hang with American Muscle - He's Plenty fast running 10's at our altitude to run off from most muscle cars! Just don't mess with a killer THR STANG!!
