Love them or hate them, this 1983 Chevy ¾ ton 4x4 was given to me not running. The drive train has about 10,000 miles on it and the electrics just quit. The owner took the electrics all apart and let it sit for 2 years. After putting it back together I found with the help of my neighbor a fusible link After replacing it the truck runs quite well. Chevy 6.2 Diesel Trouble! Help!
My 6.2 diesel chevy is making tons of noise, It has regular oil pressure,
not losing coolant, the noise quiets done after it is warm but it is still
there, the previous owner ran straight vegetable oil in it without any
heaters so is this just a plugged injector? or is it a shot piston? or? I
feel it alot in the clutch pedal regardless if i push it in or its out. but
the whole motor just shutters and it feels like something is going to come
apart. SOMEBODY PLEASE TELL WHAT IS WRONG WITH IT! THANKS FOR ANY HELP!!
After 4 Month Cold Crank...
Not what I expected... So much SMOKE!!!
Hi, CORVAIRWILD here. A little about me and what I do: First, I love my
wife of many years, she is a wonderful lady. I call her Mrs CW. I can never
go anywhere without her & my Dog Muggs! He's cool. You should have a dog
like him too. Next, I am a landlord, NO, not a slumlord who does section 8
apartment rentals, but I keep my properties up like they were my own...they
are my own! Like I live there. I have lots of apartment buildings, a farm
out in the country and a house here and there. I am always doing something,
driving rehabbing, you name it! I want to include you, so I bring my
camera! EVERYWHERE! Haha.
Did I mention I am a car enthusiast! I can't get enough Covairs and Vintage
Chevy and GMC trucks. They have great reliability...all of em' the best
vehicle on the road ever is a Corvair Spider turbo. Back to the trucks, I love the diesel
trucks and suburbans, Blazers too. That's what I plow snow with. A fisher
snow plow. I'm a busy guy, but I make time for you. Thanks! CW

1982 Chevy 6.2L Diesel
Starting my 1982 Chevrolet C10 with the factory 6.2L Detroit diesel. This
is with the engine cold (sitting overnight) at about 80 degrees ambient.
The buzzing (and red light on the dash) is the seat belt warning.

start. It does start once the cylinder temperature rises around the 1:12 min
So,Please, Please stop telling us all how cold it is in your country this
video is not about that. All comments made about how cold it is in your
country will be deleted,we are not interested.Thanks.
"One Million hits" thank you all for the views.
Caterpillar - D8 - Diesel - Cold Start - Cat - Tractor - WW2 - Normandy
Caterpillar D8-8R Built in Illinois USA in 1941 then shipped over to
England to join 79th armoured Div 819 Dozer Squadron. This actual machine
took part in Normandy and D-Day events. Filmed on 19th July 2008 at Barton
under Needwood Steam Rally ( near Lichfield Staffs ) What you are watching
is the start process needed before the Big Cats diesel engine can be
started. The petrol driven starter motor ( donkey engine ) is fired up
first. This generates heat which inturn is used to warm up the big diesel
engine prior to starting. The action of the starter motor also builds up
the oil pressure in the big diesel engine. When the required oil pressure
has been reached you will see the guy activate the start mechanism on the
diesel engine. Once she has fired up the primary petrol engine is shut down
leaving the Big Cat Diesel engine purring away....Sweet
EPIC Best near fail cold start Detroit Diesel smoke show MCI MC9 bus
*READ This is the first video with my new Samsung F40 Camcorder. My
batteries are almost 4 years old, they are tired and my fuel is
exceptionally old as well. I haven't added diesel in over 2 years now. I
finally had to put some jumper cables on it. I think an 8V71 starts better.
It was 26 F during the night during the vid it had warmed up a lil to
around 50F. Keep in mind all the fluids/hidden metal are 30-40 F. I have
another cold start vid from last year. This year, I had to grab my car to
jump the bus off after the first attempt failed. I assume engine rotation
speed by the starter affects start up. Even with additives, the diesel is
just old. I put 67 gallons in I believe two years ago which filled it to
the top, there's about 179 gallons, 95% usable I believe.
