14.56 @ 93.86 MPH VS 15.78 @ 89.29 MPH The Mustang GT featured an all-aluminum 4.6 L 3-valve SOHC Modular V8 with variable camshaft timing and a more rugged Tremec TR-3650 transmission. The engine produces 300 hp (224 kW) @ 5750 rpm and 320 lb·ft (433 N·m) of torque @ 4500 rpm. The GT model was capable of performing a quarter-mile test in 13.5 seconds @ 103 MPH, with acceleration from zero to 60 MPH in 5.0 seconds. The Mustang GT also came equipped with a limited slip differential complete with the same carbon-fiber clutch discs used in the 2003 to 2004 SVT Cobra and the 2007 Shelby GT500. The differential uses the 31-spline axles and the 8.8 in (224 mm) ring gear. The standard final drive ratio of 2005 and 2006 Mustang GTs with a manual transmission was 3.55:1. Since the 2007 model year, a 3.31:1 ratio final drive was standard with the 3.55:1 gearing available as a factory installed option. Automatic transmission-equipped models of all years come with 3.31:1 ratio. The Mustang GT features a stiffer, better handling version of the standard suspension, larger 12.4-inch front brake discs (versus the 11.4-inch discs used on V6 Mustangs), standard four-channel ABS with traction control, a two-piece drive shaft, a stainless steel dual Exhaust, standard grille-mounted fog lights, and 17-inch wheels with optional 18-inch wheels. The Mustang has a MacPherson-strut front suspension with reverse "L" lower control arms. The rear suspension was a new three-link system with a Panhard Rod that controls the vertical and lateral movements of the axle. This live axle rear suspension, while sacrificing handling, provides the benefits of reduced cost and weight over heavier, more expensive independent rear suspensions. In spite of this, Ford has drawn heavy criticism from the automotive journalism community for the decision to equip the current Mustang with the live axle system. At a press conference, Ford stated that to include an independent rear suspension would have added $5,000 to the showroom price of the car. MONTE CARLO The L67 is the supercharged version of the 3800 Series II L36 and appeared in 1996, one year after the normally aspirated version. It uses the Eaton Generation III M90 Supercharger with a 3.8" pulley, a larger throttle body, fuel injectors, cylinder heads, and lower intake manifold than the L36 uses. Both engines share the same engine blocks, but compression is reduced from 9.4:1 in the L36 to 8.5:1 for the L67. GM listed the engine output as 240 hp (180 kW) and 280 lb·ft (380 N·m) of torque, although broad torque span and perhaps conservative rating by GM due to the engine's temperature sensitivities, have established a belief in higher actual output. Final drive ratios are reduced in most applications, for better fuel economy and more use of the engine's torque in the low range. Like most 3800 V6s, the engine is well known for its reliability and low maintenance costs. The engine is a popular choice for aftermarket modification thanks to its very strong internals and impressive power gains from basic upgrades. The engine was built in Flint, Michigan and was certified LEV in 2001. This is how you "step your game up!" Since people here on you tube like to down us/others and really do a half ass job themselves! Deleting the mufflers was a sort of "last minute" decision that was a great one!! SLP Cat back Exhaust(from 2000-2005) works perfectly fine on the 06-07 W bodies! Don't let ANYONE tell you different. And since then, gas mileage has increase about 2 miles per gallons!!! 3 inch Hogan Hi-flo cat Downpipe SLP Cat-bat Exhaust deleted resonator AND mufflers SSC Lowering springs: 1.7 front 1.5 rear debadged the rest of the "SS" emblems that were on the doors CAR IS NOT YET TUNED!!
