BMW Ring Taxi - A Lap With Sabine Schmitz
This is a lap of the "Green Hell" with Sabine Schmitz on the 5th of
September 2010. It was great to have Sabine as our driver, and a huge
thanks to her and BMW RingTaxi for the thrill of being driven at high speed
on a track that takes many years to learn. We had so much fun, and highly
recommend it to anyone going to Germany, that likes the Nurburgring, and
isn't game enough to bring their own car, or hire a track day car. And we
can't help but congratulate Sabine for saying the line "I tell you
something, I could do that lap time in a van", which ultimately led to
Jeremy Clarkson pretty much being beaten around the 'ring by Sabine in a
diesel Ford Transit van. I hope to come back in a few years and do it
again! Worth flying from Australia for :)
BWM Ring Taxi - riding in a M3 on the Nurburgring (Green Hell)
BMW M3 Ring-Taxi at Nurburgring on 7 Aug 2011. We blew by everyone on the
track while being chased by the UK spec M3 we passed at the start. Sorry if
the vid is shaky but I tried like hell to hold my camera. Cool part was the
driver used to work with Air Force at Ramstein AB. Wrapped the day up with
a DTM race on the south course. Audi Red Bull team won but AMG team is
still leading in pts.
BMW ring Taxi vs Porsche 911 on the Nurburgring (The Nordschleife!)
This is the best race track in the world. The Nordschleife!
This is the one were every bike on the track gets in the way of the cars,
but to be fair it isn't a race, and the bikers are only there sight seeing
not to ride fast. This video is from 2007, BMW M5 vs Porsche 911 (the
passenger is a biker and has just been riding round the track, now he goes
in the Porsche, several times he says how 'incredible' the car is he even
points out how much the bikes slow the cars down drastically especially
after the bus, listen to him, the bikers think they are going fast!)
People can make excuses for the riders in this video, which is fine, but
at the end of the day it's a video about cars not bikes, and for those
saying it isn't Sabine, IT IS Sabine driving the BMW! it is the old M5 with
I meant, it's easier to ride a bike than drive a car, to learn at least.
Not to take anything away from the bike riders, it takes skill, lots of
skill and balls of course, or stupidity, which ever you like. No I wont
ride a bike at these kinds of speeds, I like being alive, yes I will drive
a car at these speeds, it feels safe, even if it isn't!
Nürburgring with Bernd Limmer, may 2009
Reuterstad tuning team; Patrik, Fredrik and Anders travelling with the BMW
M5 E60 from Ring-taxi. Driver Bernd Limmer ahead of Sabine Schmitz during
the lap. Pole position and track almost empty because of an earlier oil
spill. 507 bhp...
Nurburgring Nordschleife BMW E60 M5 Ring Taxi
Here's video of our ride on the BMW Ring Taxi that runs around the
Nordschleife portion of the Nurbugring track in Germany. It was an
incredibly busy Sunday with multiple track closures due to many accidents.
The video really doesn't do justice to the speed and power of the M5. Its
still fun to watch anyway.
Nurburg Ring Taxi Nordschleife
hem "a normal day on the job". Duszzz, Seit er bereit?!
Driving with a BMW test driver at the Nurburgring circuit in an M5. Letting
all wannabe Schumachers with their expensive cars way behind us. As I tried
to steady the cam, he casually told us some facts, while drifting along the
track. After the ride, still shaking and with sweaty hands, I shook the
kind man's hand, for him "a normal day at work." So, Seit ihr Bereit?!
