I videoed this car (or one just like it) some time ago, but I think this video is of better quality! Now you can see under the hood! It was an ingenious way to use VW mechanicals for a sporty car. This one is in beautiful condition!

There were sooo many models and names for AMC during the 50's through the 70's. Just think of the AMX, Javelin, Ambassador, Classic, Rambler American, Rambler, Gremlin, Eagle, Hornet, Marlin, Matador, Pacer, Rebel and Spirit, never mind the standbys at Jeep..Wagoneer and Cherokee! When you think about it, it really is quite an accomplishment considering the almost limitless resources of the Big 3! AMC was a great competitor!
1971 Karmann Ghia Wht
This looks very original to me....and in great shape! These were styled by Ghia and built by German builder Karmann..and they used Volkswagen mechanicals.
A great survivor...you seldom see them on the road. I videoed a customized 71, red color, and uploaded that recently.

I thought you'd like a look at this nicely restored 1968 Karmann Ghia. It was fully restored in 2005, and it's till looking great today. It's powered by the flat four, backed by a four speed manual trans. The paint is slick, the interior looks like new, and it runs out great. This is on sharp Karmann Ghia.
