Corvette vs. MX5 Turbo @ Nurburgring. 8m05s BTG laptime
Read more about my blue MX5 here: http://goo.gl/dvoXb. Rather than just blitz the 'Ring in 7mSomehing, KarlH followed my little Mazda around for a lap on the recent www.Trackdays.de event.
My MX5 runs a home-brew turbo with a chinacharger, HSD coil-overs and Ultra-Racing ARBs. To read more about this car and the Nurburgring, visit www.BridgeToGantry.com.
Fastest motorcycle lap of the Nürburgring. 7m10s BTG Yamaha YZF R1.

This BTG lap time would convert to about 7m28s full, or 7m23-24s for
'industry' or sportauto comparisons. Bike is 100% road-legal and ridden
most nights at the 'ring

BMW M3 E46 Roll-over crash in Nürburgring VLN race
More action here: http://goo.gl/SW5sCC
I pull the trusty pocketcam out just as the first few drops of rain fall on
Wehrseifen. An E46 driver loses control on the entry to the corner, and
ends up rolling all the way around. Race was the VLN #2 of 2012 and this
was only the second lap of a four-hour event!
First lap: Citroën DS3R

Turbo MX-5 Traction Problems - ~350 WHP in a 2500 lb 2006 NC MX-5
People want to know what our car does 0-60; we'd like to know too!
Unfortunately with now approaching 350+ WHP we can't put the power down
fully until 4th gear, sometimes not even then. We will take donations for
10.5 slicks for those that REALLY must know!
Stock motor, raced and abused, over-revved, subjected to far too much
experimentation--still 210 compression across the board and doesn't burn a
drop of oil after 3 years. Spools the Garrett 2860RS to 5 psi by 2300, 10
psi by 2700, 13 psi final Boost.
Tested to 15 psi, put down 325 to the wheels a while back at a couple psi
less and with Boost leaks that are
now fixed. We will be heading to the Dyno in the next week or two to
get the new numbers.
Tires are Falken FK452's in a straight line friendly 225/50/16 profile. At
the 52 degrees Fahrenheit we're working with here the R-Comps don't do any
better without some serious preheating.
Of note this is setup with the Blow-Through 3" MAF setup. So far so good!
The throttle response is phenomenal, HP definitely up a few, and spool
dropped about 200 rpm.

Cosworth MX-5 vs MX-5
a comparison of MX-5s. I am just getting used to the new clutch and faster reving engine. The tune is a
preliminary one while I wait on a wide band AFR logger. THe car is putting
out about 200rwhp right now, but 220-230 should be a snap once it is tuned
A 250 hp Miata vs a 430 hp Corvette
ProAutoSports and Bob Bondurant team up to hold a track day at the
Bondurant High Performance and Race Driving School near Phoenix. This video
clip features a moderately modded 2004 MazdaSpeed Miata with about 250
flywheel hp (200 rwhp on a Dyno) following a 430 hp late
model Corvette. The well driven Miata (with a passenger in the car) does
pretty well considering the huge power advantage of the Corvette, but the
Vette does eventually pull ahead slowly.
MX-5 Suspension upgrade
Earlier this year we put this video together of our MX5 being fitted with
all new Pedders eXtreme coil-overs. Originally when took the car to the
Wakefield Park, just running the lowered springs we pulled out, the car
managed a 1:16.3 with only a basic brake upgrade, intake Exhaust and Advan AD08 tyres. We're happy to say
that with the eXtreme coil-overs fitted, we shaved off a whole second and
got the car down to a 1:15.1. The amazing part too is that this was with no
major adjustments to the suspension given the amount available and as the
day progressed we suffered a sticky rear brake caliper which affected
braking performance, yet were still able to go just as fast!
Big thanks to Adam Gillick from Pedders, as well as the team from Pedders
Bankstown, Pedro, Allan and Dimitri.
If you're keen on the eXtreme Coil-Overs for your car, then head to the
Pedders website which is www.pedders.com.au or www.peddersusa.com if you're
in the US to check out how many cars they're available for!
