This video was designed to capture the before and after audio as a result of upgrading to the resonated, full Exhaust system offered from AWE tuning. For those who dont want to hear the stock sounds and want to go right to the glorious sounds of the AWE Exhaust, skip ahead to 1:42 in the video. Hopefully this video helps offer some real world driving scenarios to get a better understanding of how this Exhaust might sound on your car. This Exhaust is very civil when cruising around town and doesn't drone. But when it's time to go wide open throttle, it exudes some rather prodigious, delightful sounds. This Exhaust system is the resonated version and includes the downpipes offered by AWE. The vehicle in this video is equipped with the S-tronic transmission and factory intake system. For those looking for an even louder setup, AWE also offers a non resonated version of this Exhaust.

APR is pleased to present our first RSC™ Exhaust System for the Audi marque in the new 3.0T B8 S4 Model Years 2010+. Reflective Sound Cancellation allows for maximum Exhaust gas flow while completely eliminating in cabin sound resonance (drone). RSC™ incorporates innovative technologies developed in conjunction with NASA. With limited use of packing materials and no baffles, RSC™ allows for a completely straight and free flowing Exhaust path through the RSC™ mufflers. Reflective Cancellation bounces the undesirable sound waves into each other to attenuate the wave and completely eliminate the low frequency tones that create drone. Each RSC™ muffler is tuned to eliminate specific, undesirable sound frequencies allowing only the engine's desirable Exhaust notes to be heard and improving performance. The OEM Exhaust system consists of Headers, Catalytic Converters, Resonated Downpipes, a Center Resonator, Rear Mufflers and Exhaust Tips. The APR RSC™ Performance Exhaust System is a Full Catback Exhaust System as it replaces the OEM Resonated Downpipes, Center Resonator, Rear Mufflers and Exhaust Tips. This part requires you to have the Stage 1 upgrade before you can upgrade to the pulley with Stage 2. What's the reason for this you might be asking? Without recalibrating the ECU found in your vehicle, pulley upgrades offer no advantage, as the Supercharger will simply bypass Boost pressure. Yet, with the upgrade, they are able to develop new hardware and calibrate the ECU to work properly as if it was intended by the factory. When you upgrade the ECU, many expect a massive increase in torque, but that simply isn't the case with these new supercharged motors. APR Sound tests for the B8 A4 2.0 TFSI Exhaust systems. The vehicle in this video is a 2010 B8 A4 2.0 TFSI. It's a tiptronic and has quattro. The vehicle is fitted with APR software and two different APR Exhaust Systems. First, the APR Quad Tip, Dual Exit Catback Exhaust System. This Exhaust system extends from the OEM downpipe out the rear of the car on both sides. We apologize for the unpainted bumper. We simply fitted the quad tip bumper for the video. The Second Exhaust system is the APR Dual Tip, Single Exit Catback Exhaust System. This Exhaust system extends from the OEM downpipe out the rear of the car on one side. APR Also offers both systems in a true, ful, turboback Exhaust system complete with high flow catalytic converter and resonated downpipe. More videos of these systems to follow! AWE Touring Exhaust - Audi B8.5 S4 w/ Stock Downpipes
** Update: I have installed AWE's Resonated Downpipes. ** This is a short series of 5 Exhaust demos on a B8 with S-Tronic (DSG). The Exhaust, from AWE, is essentially cat-back (however, downpipes are stock). Please "Thumbs Up" if you found this video helpful. Note that despite the video's title (which I did for traffic purposes), this is technically not a B8. The 2013 models have a different ECU (Simos 8.51 vs. Simos 8.4), different gearing, and a different redline than the 2010-2012 models. The four demos are: - Cold start (Gear: Park) - Aggressive pass - Normal pass - Aggressive interior - Normal interior My goal was to capture various "real world" situations, such as what this would sound like for a person standing on the side of the road, a passenger in your car, etc., under both normal and hard acceleration. With the stock downpipes, the S-Tronic does drone in the low RPMs (1,200-2,000). The resonated downpipes eliminate this drone, which I am considering. However, I will add that the microphone does not do a good job of picking up this drone this in the "Normal Interior" video. We had the gain set to 100%, but it is louder than the microphone was able to pick up. All in all, a fantastic system from AWE. Highly recommended.
