Redneck Eviction
The Green Beast hauling this mobile home is a 1954 Dodge PowerWagon. It is the most bad*** vechicle in SE Texas! The trailer was vacant and we needed to remove it from our property but the cost of putting tires on the mobile home and hiring a professional mover etc... was out of the question. so my husband, with the help of his brother and cousin hooked it up to the green machine and hauled it off. there are no tires on the rims of the trailer, which is obviously not an issue for the Dodge, aka George Andries' army jeep. If you are from Woodworth Louisiana, you know exactly who I am talking about!
1940 Dodge 3 ton truck WW2
Some old footage from 2000 showing the Dodge's six cylinder engine fired up. It was leaking a little oil, the tyres were all soft, and the fuel and ignition were jury-rigged together to make it all work. The footage isn't the best as it was lifted from a 10-year old VHS tape, transferred to DVD, converted, then edited into an mpeg file.
This 3 ton truck has been off the road since the mid 1950s. I'm always looking for spare parts for the "big" engine - 331 cu in - so if you can help, please get in touch. I also need a spare wheel - 10 stud, 20" diameter, by Budd, split rim.
The ongoing restoration of this lorry can be followed on http://www.oldclassiccar.co.uk/dodgerestoration.htm
Footage of the truck's engine running in 2011, for the first time since a comprehensive overhaul, can now be seen on this later video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KTaaCjzmg1E
Vintage Dodge Pickup Truck
this is a 1946 dodge pickup which belongs to my father, he restored it in the early seventies in his high school auto shop class. The first song is Murder in the City by The Avett Brothers, and the second song is Blood Shot Bill by The Trappers.
The truck is pretty much bone stock, with the exception of the air cleaner and some of the interior knobs. The tires are old bias ply tires and do get square if it sits for long. Enjoy

FARGO FL 4-60. 1946.mod. Chrysler engine. 6.cyl. 95.hp.
Fargo was a brand of truck manufactured and sold in Canada by the Chrysler Corporation. Fargo trucks were almost identical to Dodge trucks, save for trim and name, and were sold by Chrysler-Plymouth dealers. Production began in the late 1920s.
The name Fargo was discontinued after 1972 for Canada, but lived longer for other countries around the world under the Chrysler Corporation's badge engineering marketing approach. Most of the Fargo trucks and bus chassis sold in Argentina, Finland, Australia, India, and other countries in Europe and Asia were made in Chrysler's Kew (UK) plant. Most were also sold under the Dodge and Commer names.
Theories on why Chrysler used the name Fargo include the imagery of open range of the American west, symbolized by the city of Fargo and the Wells-Fargo stage lines, while another theory assumes there was a play on the words "Far" and "Go" denoting durability.
