Comparison Test: 2007 BMW 335i vs. 2008 Infiniti G37
After driving the 2007 BMW 335i and 2008 Infiniti G37 Sport, we wonder if the people who built them thought about anything besides going fast.
Between the twin turbochargers nesting on the 335i's inline six-cylinder and the large-displacement V6 that gives the G37 its name, we're waist-deep in a level of engine might that recalls an E46 BMW M3 — and we've scarcely passed the $40,000 price barrier.
Comparison Test: 2007 Honda Fit Sport vs. 2008 Scion xD
Kids today, eh? The 2007 Honda Fit Sport and 2008 Scion xD are meant to grab the attention of a generation that knows how to play it loud. These cars are supposed to be all about watts, speaker count and iPod inputs.
Yet they are both so sensible that you'd swear the coveted Gen-Y market was filled with aging no-bones consumers more interested in price and practicality than loud music. And in fact, older drivers are proving to be just as enthusiastic about sensible, stripped-down cars as younger drivers.
2007 Audi RS4 by Edmunds' Inside Line
If the engine is the soul of every car, then the 2007 Audi RS 4 has more character under its hood than most performance cars possess from tip to tailpipe. Now that's some soul. And it's all forward of the front axle....

This is to say they feel like two 32-inch-long rubber bands — sweaty ones. My head inside the helmet feels thick and swollen like an overinflated football. And it's taking me so long to unfasten my helmet strap that I surely must be wearing winter gloves. I expected to be able to casually whip the helmet off between the 2009 Cadillac CTS-V that's just discombobulated my combobutates and the group of GM execs standing about 30 feet away.
Awkwardly, I arrive still fumbling, sweating and disoriented. So much for the cool nonchalance I've been striving so hard to cultivate for these many years.
Oh, also I'm nauseated. This is what happens once you've spent a couple laps in the passenger seat of the 2009 Cadillac CTS-V while being hurled around the test track at GM's proving ground in Milford, Michigan.
The new 2007 Audi RS4 is the top-of-the-line vehicle in Audi's popular "four series". We decided to take this 420 hp monster out in to a dried lake bed for some traction, handling, and top-speed testing. Check out what the newest incarnation of the RS4 was made for...
