Beautiful restoration! As you can see from the list in the video, some
engine mods were made, but everything looks original. Cale Yarborough raced
cars like this at the time. The paint and interior are perfection!
1970 Mercury Cyclone GT 351C Cruise
Here it is. I've worked out most of the issues on the car. This was
basically a shake down cruise so no hot rodding. I gave it a little gas in
places, but never more than half way.
This is a 1970 Mercury Cyclone GT
It has a bone stock 351C 2V. the only mod being the Exhaust which is turbo mufflers that dump before the axle.
I hope you enjoy the ride! I know I did!

1972 Mercury montego GT
Our 72 Montego Gt thats awaiting restoration. This car was suppose to be
the 72 cyclone spoiler GT but Mercury changed their minds and made it the
Montego GT. Most came with bench seats and 302 small blocks. This one is
rare with the hounds tooth bucket seat interior which is white with black
carpet, console and rallye dash.It had the rare rim blow steering wheel
which has long since disappeared a long time ago. Also this one has the
rare 351 Cobra Jet Motor option. I cant find any info on the half white
vinyl top. its the only one ive ever seen this way. There is not another
one like this on the Montego Gt registry website. Its quite possible it
might be one of one which would make it the only one with this vinyl top
option. Please dont ask me if you can buy it. Its not for sale now or in the
1969 Mercury Montego - #6059 - Gateway Classic Cars St. Louis
For Sale in our St. Louis showroom is a 1969 Mercury Montego with a whole
lot of attitude. The Montego was an upscale version of a Ford Comet and
this particular example came from the factory with a 6 cylinder. This car
has been healthily upgraded and now boasts a monstrous 525 CID V8. Backing
the big block is a stout C6 automatic transmission and Nodular rear end
with 3.54 gears with locker. The heavy duty hardware is needed as HP is
estimated over 650 HP. To keep her planted the shocks, springs, and brakes
have all been replaced. Outside she's coated in a glossy coat of red paint
with a great set of black wheels wrapped in white letter tires. With the
large body and the wheel and tire package it reminds you of NASCARs of the
late 60s. You'll sure feel like a race car driver when you fire up and hear
the rumble of that Big Block. Inside you'll find new leather upholstery,
floor mounted ratchet shifter and aftermarket tachometer. This bad boy is
ready for the street, the strip, car shows, or whatever you want to throw
at it. You can see additional information, including HD video, at
www.GatewayClassicCars.com. Please call 618-271-3000 with any questions.

Mercury Cars of 1949 to 1951
The Mercury car model has been around since 1939 and was introduced as a
mid range priced vehicle by Edsel Ford.
Cars built between 1949 and 1951, would in later years prove to be very
popular amongst the Hot Rod Car Enthusiasts. They would reshape the steel
to produce cars that would set a new standard for Customized Vehicles.
Early model Mercury cars of 1949 to 1951 had a 90 degree V type, "L" head 8
cylinder engine with a displacement of 255.4 cubic inches. These engines
put out 112 horsepower at 3600 R.P.M.
Later model cars of 1955 replaced the "L" engine with the "Y" block V-8
producing between 188 and 198 horsepower dependant on the
engine type for that year.
This slide show is a part of a series of pictures of cars from different
car shows that I've attended here in Southern California U.S.A.

The most recent owner of this beautiful Cougar had several Cougars over the
years. When we met him he owned this one and a Cougar Eliminator that he
drag races. He bought this one at a local car show about 12 years ago. The
car was restored just before he bought it.
