This is my buddys 240, basic bolt ons. Car stalls due to a massive vac leak.
Because Ive gotten so many comments on this video Im going to answer a few generic questions:
-Its a MT
-It stalls due to many vac leaks and the incorrect o2 sensor was originally used.
-turbo flutter at low Boost is normal/accepted on any Boosted car that runs a bov
Stay tuned for more/ bigger turbo :P

UPDATE!! 1997 nissan s14 kouki sr20det build (part2) with dyno video!
*skip to 18:18 to see video of the car running
*skip to 24:53 for Dyno video
so after my last video the car ran good for about 2 weeks. long story
short, the tune that my last shop did set my motor up for detonation so
cylinder #1 dropped a significant amount of compression. the other 3 did as
well but not to such a degree.
it took me around 7-8 months to gather enough money to go with forged
internals rather than OEM.
i was on the verge of purchasing all the parts when i came across what i
thought was too good to be true.
someone in north carolina had a nice 1996 nissan 240se shell and fully
built block for sale. he was asking right around what it would of cost me
to rebuild my motor and considering i was getting a entire car and many
aftermarket parts with it, it was a no-brainer for me... I WAS SOLD!
here are SOME of the parts included with the 1996 240 shell:
-Freddy intake manifold/$140
FULLY ASSEMBLED BLOCK (BLUEPRINTED AND RACE BALANCED)
-9:1 forged cp pistons $470
-Brian crower 1200hp "I beam extreme" 19mm GT-R +625 ARP hardware/ $630
-ACL race rod and main bearings /$121.60
-nissan thrust washer /$12
-B&M short shifter/$200
-Megan turbo elbow/$55
-stock inj w/ fuel rail/$80
-Intercooler and piping/$140
-t25 stock turbo/$100
-sr20 stock maf/$45
-sr20det stock oil pan/$30
-winning specialties harness/$200
-stance rear upper control arms
-stance coilovers/ $1000
-greddy blow off valve
-turbosmart Boost controller
and some other stuff..
picked it all up and the rest was history.
car made some healthy numbers after everything was dialed in, the head will
get built next and them I'm gonna be going for 450hp so subscribe for
hope you enjoyed and thanks for watching

SR20DET Compressor Surge
Compressor surge is a phenomenon experienced when Boost pressure inside the intake tract builds
up and has no convenient relief method. This is usually caused from the
throttle plate closing quickly. Changing load conditions (off throttle)
resulting in varying amounts of Exhaust gas can also simulate such conditions.
In such a case, the pressure takes the only way out through the turbocharger compressor housing. The unique sound
is caused by the pressure charge encountering the spinning compressor wheel
on its escape from the engine.
Compressor surge goes by many other names such as compressor stall, turbo dose or dosing, pigeon, turbo flutter/chatter and sometimes mistakenly
The car was thoroughly warmed up before filming. The Boost controller has been disabled allowing
the car to run directly off wastegate pressure. The body panels have been
removed due to a slowly progressing facelift. For more info on my car:
Props to Salman, my cousin, for introducing me firsthand to this wonderful,
ridiculous phenomenon and also to Quail from sxoc for doing this s**t ages
