Honda S800 in Group 1 race at Robling Road. Could not compete with the horsepower of the first two cars but the 850cc Honda humbled the rest of the 22 car field.

Sold at http://www.ClassicarGarage.nl Honda S800 cabriolet, 1969. Superb (excellent+) condition! The S800 was presented in 1966. The car was available as coupe and cabriolet model. The S800 was a high tech machine. The four cylinder engine was a jewel of mechanical engineering with double overhead camshafts (DOHC) hemispherical combustion chambers and, crankshaft with roller bearings and four carburettors. The engine was very powerful and it managed to squeeze 70 bhp. from only 791 cc. cylinder capacity! The light (740 kg.) S800 was a little bomb on wheels! The last race meeting on the Oran Park GP circuit in NSW Australia before the bull dozers move in to make a housing estate. Your with Matt Blanch in Steve Jones' 1973 'Marque Sports' MG Midget. It is race 4 for Marque & Production Sports Cars on Sunday 26th July 2009. A gearbox problem does develop but the car made it through the meeting.
