86 Chevy. cammed 305, just a quick build with some buddys and lots of beer. 650 edelbrock carb, hurricane high rise air gap intake off sprint car, 15+yr old clevite cam " not sure on lift and duration" pretty big if u ask me, somewhere around 400. 350 double hump heads "all i had to work with they sat 5yrs, didnt do a thing to them but take em to the car wash. this is an update motor is now junk as i didn't drain water in time and froze and now there's a 4 inch hole in the side. thinking bout a 350 for it next. leave comments and vote thanks ppl

Building my Small Block Chevy Nova SS restoration Video Series Part 2
Here is Part #2 of my Nova SS restoration video series. This video shows
the rebuilding of my small block chevy. 350 bored 30 over, 10/10 crank,
forged pistons, crane 3/4 race cam (Hy. Fl. Tap.), 305 H.O. Heads with HD
springs, edelbrock performer EPS intake, headers, edelbrock 650, HEI, etc.
Motor is set up to run at 11:1 CR w/the 305 heads. Cam is built for high
compression (10-11.5:1). Estimated horse around 375 CHP. Sweet spot for tq
is estimated to be around 4500 RPM, revs to 6500, floats valves at 6800.
1/4 mile estimate around 13.5 seconds w/slicks.

305 Chevy running on engine stand - test run - pt3
Finally got the comp extreme 4x4 cam put in. Also put in gear drive. The
gear drive was a cheap pro comp unit, I checked it againest the stock set
and 2 double rollers and the timing mark were off. They had the number 1
piston already headed down the tube and the cam still retarded about a
degree. And that was with the 5 degree advanced key. It was almost zero, so
I ran it. Did not like whatso ever. Seem to have real bad harmonics, just
ran real bad. So I put the new double roller on and rolled with it. Plus I
added a 650 double pumper, in place of the 600 vac secondary. And added two
spacers. Plus I did a re-curve kit on the distributor. So all in all, Stock
305 2 brl maxed out at 5950 rpm went to a 650 Double Pumper Comp Cam Double
hump heads, double roller timing chain and now maxes out at 6950 rpm. Dont
know anything else to do with it but sell it. All comments welcome.

Replacing valve stem seals in 305 H.O. small block chevy from 1986 Monte Carlo SS
I'm putting the original 305HO back in the Monte after taking the ZZ3 out
for my Iroc project. This is mainly to make the car mobile but it may end
up tagged with this engine for a while. Previous owner reported that this
305 has over 100k miles on it and has been out of the car since 1997. He
said it smoked during startup and sure enough the valve stem seals were
worn out. Hopefully this will fix the issue.

way back) ****i wanna apologize i revved the engine like 1/4 throttle, so
it doesnt sound that great, i will take another video this spring (2012)
