Testing the GoPro Hero2 (& external mic) with my 2012 Audi S4
Driving my 2012 B8 Audi S4. Using the GoPro Hero2 with the Audio-Technica Lavalier external mic. I mounted the GoPro on my closed sunroof and used the upside down setting. It's recording in 720p at 60fps. The mic has a 20ft cable (one of the main reasons I got this model); I ran it from the GoPro, through the pass-through in the middle of the backseats and through the boot and have it taped to the rear bumper between the two Exhausts. I find that it's a great position for the Exhaust tones but the road noise gets pretty loud. I think I'll try leaving the mic in the boot next time.

Audi's S4 has been on the scene since 1991 as Audi's automotive performance response to BMW's M3 and Merc's C-Class AMG. Quick, sophisticated and a sleeper in its own right, the S4 still tended to reserve itself for those who wanted solid performance and creature comforts but didn't necessarily pine for the M3's razor handling and steering precision and the C-Class AMG's raucous power. Well, 2013's S4 isn't lacking in any particular department but it isn't exactly rushing to show off with a boisterous aesthetic.
