1971 Volkswagen Karmann Ghia Engine Start
First time starting up the 2333 cc engine (91x84mm) that I installed in my
wife's freshly restored 1971 Volkswagen Karmann Ghia convertible. Yes, I
know my coil is installed upside-down. The after-market wire harness was
installed with too little slack to reach a downward-pointing coil. This is

VW Karmann Ghia - FIRST DRIVE!!!!
OH YEAH!!! After 18 years of cutting, grinding, welding, filling, sanding,
sanding, sanding, priming, painting, buffing, fixing, wiring, trimming,
sweating, cussing, smiling, crying, talking, screaming, farting and
everything else it takes to dismantle and restore a car, the Karmann Ghia
moved again for the first under it's own power. The feeling? AWESOME!!!
Classic VW Engine Rebuild, By Last Chance Auto Restore.com
We began with a dual port 1600 cc engine from a 1973 Volkswagen Beetle.
The engine ran with a miss and was smoking a bit . After performing a
compression test,(both wet and dry) , we determined the crankshaft and
bearings were fine.
We replaced the pistons, pots & rings. We had the valves redone and made
several upgrades along the way.....
Episode 70 Part 2 Seamless floor pan installation, 1965--70 Mustang, Autorestomod
We finish the installation of the National Parts Depot Mustang floor pan in our weekend
project 1968 Mustang
hardtop! In this episode we only replace the sections needed. Gary Jackson
shows how to cut, weld, and grind a pan for a seamless repair that will
give a factory look without using the full pan. This method will also be
easier due to less welding and grinding.

vintage! The Karmann Ghia | drive it!
It is a heartbreaker of a car, a real dreamboat and possibly the most
beautiful VW ever built. However the sporty coupe does have one small
drawback. Its design is far racier than its driving performance. The first
Ghias were fitted wtih 30 horsepower VW Beetle
engines, while later models got 50 horsepower motors. Still,
when the Karmann Ghia was introduced back in 1955 this was more than enough
to keep vehicles like the Goggomobil and BMW Isetta in check. During it's
close to 20 years in production, some 443,000 Ghias were sold. Today this
classic car has nothing left to prove. We take a relaxing drive in this
stylish milestone of automotive history.
