Front Engine Dragster built in five months
In December 2009 I got the idea that it would be fun to have a FED so I asked a few questions and read a few threads on the HAMB. After wieghing all the advice and suggestions I bought a set of Mark Williams blue prints and got started. With the help of a good friend or two I had a can the was ready to race at Eagle Field in May 2010.





Chassis Assembly
With the sub-chassis, front clip and roll cage welding complete, team Leavitt brings all three components together giving shape to the car. Rodney and Colton MIG weld at the same time to increase production while keeping a close eye on the heat input and metal draw, (which is also an important step in choosing where to sit)!

My thoughts on the process. The welding rod may be important,, but it's the ability and practice that makes a strong joint. TIG or gas, all welding rods I used worked just fine. Practice, practice and more practice!!!
