With the sub-chassis, front clip and roll cage welding complete, team
Leavitt brings all three components together giving shape to the car.
Rodney and Colton MIG weld at the same time to increase production while
keeping a close eye on the heat input and metal draw, (which is also an
important step in choosing where to sit)!
On-board footage of dragster crash
Blown head gasket dumps water in front of the tires causing dragster to
veer into the wall and flip, landing upside down. Thanks to the excellent
track emergency team and the strongly-built car, the driver sustained no
injuries. The car is capable of 200+ MPH and sub-7 second 1/4 mile passes.
It is powered by a turbo-charged 2.2
liter 4-cylinder GM EcoTech engine producing nearly 1600 HP.

4130 Tubing - Welding Rod Test - Conclusion
My thoughts on the process. The welding rod may be important,, but it's
the ability and practice that makes a strong joint. TIG or gas, all welding
rods I used worked just fine. Practice, practice and more practice!!!
