Gene Langan Volkswagen is proud to present this 1956 Karmann Ghia. Produced
in March 1956, this red Karmann Ghia was purchased in a VW dealer in
Germany and shipped to the US. This Karmann Ghia is in red with a black
roof. In 1998, it was restored to its original color. The lower set of
headlights and taillights give the Karmann Ghia a sleeker look.
Our dealership is conveniently located at 816 New London Turnpike,
Glastonbury. Gene Langan Volkswagen proudly serves drivers from Hartford
and other neighboring cities in Connecticut. For more information, current
sales and incentives give us a call at (860) 266-4982.
Lowering the rear of a Volkswagen Karmann Ghia suspension
This video takes a more comprehensive look and demonstrates the lowering
and fine-tuning of the swing axle rear suspensions. Simply put, if your car
is either lowered or raised and you are not driving on Drop Plates or Raise
Plates then you are settling for an inferior and potentially dangerous
ride! Lower or raise the rear of both Swing Axle and IRS Volkswagens and
Buggies without changing the factory spring plate travel or torsion in the
system and achieve a superior ride! Atomwerk Drop/Raise Plates will restore
the factory "feel"! We did not seat-of-the-pants design our Drop Plates to
lower your vehicle, we ENGINEERED them so that your car will not lose its
ride quality after it has been lowered. Bottom line is that Drop Plates are
the only way to have a comfortable ride when your rear end is lowered. See
our tech page for greater understanding of this:
